She’s also a dedicated philanthropist. 2023 sees her honored as MAC Music Innovator for the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, as well as paving the way for a debut album, Feel Good Music. With a deep love for Brazilian music, he has been fortunate to work extensively with many of Brazil's best-known artists. He has performed on the soundtracks for dozens of films and has also released seven acclaimed solo CDs of his own music. He received a Master's in Jazz Studies from the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston. Pasquale Grasso has undoubtedly changed the way the world views jazz guitar. Born in Ar**no Irpino, Pasquale began playing guitar at a very young age and has toured and recorded with decades of the world’s jazz greats. Pasquale is an official Jazz Ambassador with the US Embassy and is a resident professor at SUNY Purchase College. This week’s Jazz ‘n TÖST featured artist is the late-great, Henri Salvador.
Salvador was a French-Caribbean comedian, singer, musician, humorist, TV personality, label manager, author and composer. From his roots in the 1930s Django-style jazz through the big band era he was on the leading edge, bringing rock and roll to France in the 1950s with his arranger, Quincy Jones. Still a rising star at the age of 70, Salvador voiced the crab Sebastian in the 1989 French version of Disney's The Little Mermaid and continued entertaining until his final note in 2008. This week’s track, All I Really Want Is Love with Lisa Ekdahl is highlighted by Henri’s singular vocal style and humor.

Terri Lyne Carrington is an American jazz drummer, composer, producer, and educator. She toured with each of Herbie Hancock's musical configurations between 1997 and 2007. She’s a three-time Grammy®️ winner including a 2013 award for Best Jazz Instrumental Album, which established her as the first female musician to win a Grammy®️ in this category.

Carrington serves as Founder and Artistic Director of the Berklee Institute of Jazz and Gender Justice and serves on the board of trustees with the Recording Academy. Tune in this week to hear her drumming live on Esperanza Spaulding’s If That's True.
