Higher Ground is an uptempo anthemic track sitting on a great groove that almost sounds like what a new Fleetwood Mac song could sound like. Its stream of consciousness lyrics are set in the style of a soul-affirming conversation of Druv with his mother, beginning with a whisper, “Hey little drummer boy, don’t you move too fast, you’re swimming in the ocean, you’re floating on the grass”, setting the stage for an exchange with a traveling soul searching for big answers in our harried world. We finally find that big release in the soaring, calming chorus with, “Can’t tell you where you’re going, or what you’re going to be … when your music is flowing, you have found, found your higher ground”. ‘Higher Ground’ is written and composed by Druv, produced by superstar UK record producers Calum MacColl (Ronan Keating) & Simon Edwards (David Gray), creating a resonant, high energy track that breaks new ground from its first beat.
