& TEEN HAD THE SAME “SHHH” TATTOO.

The 11th Circuit Solicitor's Office announced the 20-year sentence of a Lexington County man for domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature.

Domestic Violence Assault sends a Lexington County Man to Prison for 20 years

Michael Boyd Harvey, II, age 53, pled guilty to Domestic Violence of a High and Aggravated Nature in Lexington County on Thursday, September 4, 2025. Circuit Court Judge Debra R. McCaslin sentenced Harvey to the maximum twenty (20) years in prison. Under South Carolina law, this offense is classified as serious and violent.
On August 26, 2024, Harvey physically assaulted the victim. Harvey punched, kicked, and beat her over an extended period of time causing her to ultimately develop a stroke. The victim was rushed to Prisma Health Richland Hospital where she remained hospitalized for several months. As a result of the assault, the victim sustained massive bruising and swelling to her face, head, neck, chest, and about her body. Four fingers on her right hand were partially amputated and her left arm is now paralyzed.
Harvey fled the area once a relative located the victim and called 911. Harvey was located and apprehended by detectives with the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office ten days later.
This case was prosecuted by Assistant Solicitor Dante Esposito and Senior Assistant Solicitor Robby McNair. The investigation was conducted by the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department.
Harvey has prior convictions for assault and driving under the influence. Harvey has been transferred will begin serving his sentence at the South Carolina Department of Corrections immediately.

News Release: Suspicious Activity Call Leads to Homicide Arrest

Sheriff Danny H. Rogers reports that on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at approximately 4:30 p.m., Guilford County Sheriff's Office (GCSO) Deputies responded to the 1200 block of Blackberry Ridge Drive in High Point, NC, regarding a reported “suspicious activity” call for service. Following multiple interviews and an extensive search of the area, Deputies located a crime scene and collected evidence.

Amber Marie Schimmelpfenning, 36, was last seen on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at approximately 12:00 a.m. Despite extensive search efforts, Detectives were unable to locate her. The case quickly escalated into a Missing Person/Homicide investigation.

After working closely with the Guilford County District Attorney’s Office, GCSO Detectives obtained warrants for Ricky Lam, 40, on the following charges:
--Felony First Degree Murder
--Felony Concealment/Failure to Report a Death
--Felony Felon in Possession of a Firearm

On Sunday, September 14, 2025, with the assistance of the Davidson County Sheriff's Office, Lam was served his warrants while in custody at the Davidson County Detention Center for unrelated charges. He remains in custody under no bond.

This is an ongoing investigation. No further information is available at this time.
