Kitty the Step was courting a man from Ballyclough a few years back. Every Saturday they'd get lunch in the HiB before going for a stroll through Cairn Woods. Fierce smitten. Kitty had dancing classes lined up in the Big Blue Cube & was readying herself for life with himself in North Cork. One day, wadnt she accosted outside Mahonys by a woman claiming to be himselfs wife. She made a holy show of her. Sure wadnt your man married with 6 kids & a mortgage and he seeing Kitty on the side. Kitty ran for the border. But for a while we were calling her 'Kitty the SideStep'.

Cork City Libraries - Come along to Tory Top Library for a Cork Folklore Project Listening Evening on Tuesday 28 March at 2.00 pm.
‘Circular Tales’: slocking apples, chocolate crumb and collecting waste in 1940s to 1960s Cork City.

As part of the Lifelong Learning Festival and in conjunction with Ballyphehane Learning Neighbourhood, the Cork Folklore Project will share stories and memories from their archive of oral history interviews with Cork City people.

To celebrate the launch of the project ‘Circular Tales’, they will present stories of how Cork City communities in the 1940s to 1960 stretched resources, earned extra money, and creatively appropriated all sorts of goods from chocolate crumb to apples to fish.

Admission Free. All welcome.

We're excited to see that the brand-new series of will be kicking off this Sunday! 📺

Last May, Pat McDonnell Paints were delighted to once again join up with the DIY SOS team. This time, we took part in a project to rebuild the home of the Drummond family in Redemption Road, Cork City. We were thrilled to support the project through the donation of paints, accessories, and tools.

Well done to Baz, team DIYSOS & the countless volunteers who took part in this incredible project! We can't wait to tune in to watch the show!!

Cork Dog Action Welfare Group - Louie the lurcher is around two years old. He has has been waiting a long time for a family of his own . He loves people and is good with other dogs. Like all lurchers Louie loves to be around people so will need someone home during the day to keep him company.
