MYTH
Playa Majahua in Zihuatanejo, Mexico, was known for its wild beauty and the legends that surrounded it. One such legend told of a pirate captain named El Toro, who buried his treasure somewhere along the rugged cliffs that overlooked the beach.
According to the tale, El Toro was a fearsome pirate who terrorized the seas, plundering ships and amassing a fortune in gold and jewels. But as he grew older, he began to regret his life of crime and sought redemption by burying his treasure and vowing never to return to piracy.
El Toro chose Playa Majahua as the location for his treasure, believing its remote location and treacherous terrain would deter any would-be thieves. He marked the spot with a large rock shaped like a bull's head, a symbol of his nickname.
Over the years, many had tried to find El Toro's treasure, but none had succeeded. Some claimed that the ghost of El Toro himself guarded the treasure, cursing any who dared to seek it.
