In 2008 THE WORD ALIVE was founded by Craig Mabbitt (vocals) and Zach Hansen (guitar). Mabbitt was the lead singer of BLESSTHEFALL (2004) and in 2008, shortly after forming the band, Mabbitt also moonlighted as the lead vocalist for ESCAPE THE FATE and began to tour with them. The members of THE WORD ALIVE wanted to tour, but could not due to the absence of Mabbitt, and so in December of 2008, the band fired Mabbitt while he was on tour with ESCAOE THE FATE and replaced him with current lead vocalist Tyler Smith. THE WORD ALIVE has gone through nine different band member changes, but Hansen and Smith still remain. Together with touring musicians Daniel Nelson (drummer) and Jose DelRio (guitar/ keyboards/ background vocals), THE WORD ALIVE has released its latest single "New Reality" and it's getting a lot of play on rock radio and Octane. THE WORD ALIVE has over 2M monthly listeners on Spotify and their single "Rise" has over 250M streams.
