Episode #72 of the Close Encounters of the Nerd Kind podcast sees Tee-J, Imran and Dan have a sit-down to discuss two of the WWE's most revered periods - the Attitude Era of the mid-late-90s and the current HHH/Netflix Era which continues to garner rave reviews as it pushed the WWE onto increasingly new heights in the post-Vince McMahon years. The trio discuss a variety of matters from looking at the respective stars of each era, the representation of women in each, the tag divisions... and they even delve into the oh-so-important theme songs indicative of the time.

Last year was the 30 year anniversary of Alex Proyas' 'The Crow'. Featuring a career-defining role for the late, great Brandon Lee, the flawless adaptation of the James O'Barr graphic novel has become a cult classic despite the litany of failed sequels within the franchise. Last year's long-gestating Crow reboot, starring Bill Skarsgård and FKA Twigs, was met with an overwhelmingly negative response but what makes a franchise that studios keep returning to?

Supple & Lean's Geekcast delves into all iterations of The Crow in a podcast soon to be made available to all but here are a few thoughts and musings on the franchise in the meantime...

Welcome to Episode #20 of the 90s State of Mind podcast - a collaborative project between 4ever in Electric Dreams and Blue-in-Green:RADIO. This podcast series typically sees Imran (London, UK) and Rhonda (California, USA) delve into some of their favourite releases from the 90s and for this episode but this episode sees the duo take the conversation in a slightly different direction than usual.

The show today is inspired by Andre 3000 and his comments made to GQ in November 2023 about rapping as a 48 year old man confirming sadly that he has no inclination to ever rap again and that he would feel "inauthentic" in doing so, even jokily asking what he would even tap about before citing colonoscopies and bad eyesight as potential topics.

Andre's perspectives haven't been shared by all of his contemporaries as 2024 saw the release of projects by LL Cool J (56) who released 'The Force', Common (52) collaborated with Pete Rock for Part 1 of 'The Auditorium', Snoop Dogg (53) reconnected with Dr Dre for 'Missionary' amongst a slew of other projects from notable hip-hop icons.

So we're ultimately discussing rapping at 50. Is hip-hop a young person's game? Is rapping at 50 something to be embraced or should rappers have the courtesy to know when the time is right to ride off into the sunset?

Welcome to Episode #9 of the 4ever in Electric Dreams & CONFESSIONS OF A CURLY MIND co-production - Supple & Lean | A Geekcast.

Presented by Imran Mirza from London, UK, and Vahé Vishapakagh Koshayan from Melbourne, Australia, the duo spend some time reconnecting with the 90s cult classic limited run series, The Maxx.

Initially unveiled in 1993 by creator Sam Kieth, The Maxx was swiftly picked up by MTV for a thirteen-part series forming part of their Oddities brand in 1995. The premise focuses on a small group of characters and their interpersonal connections that impact them within the perceived real world and an alternate dimension entitled Pangea or The Outback.

Vahé and Imran delve deep into the show's backstory, its incredible characters, its unmistakable 90s aesthetic and relish in what is undoubtedly a timeless piece of enthralling fiction. We're also very excited about the show's original music in support of the conversation so please listen out for another Supple & Lean original - 'The Life Of The Isz' featuring Monsignor D'Par Ted.

Welcome to Episode #7 of the 4ever in Electric Dreams & CONFESSIONS OF A CURLY MIND co-production - Supple & Lean | A Geekcast.

Presented by Imran Mirza from London, UK, and Vahé Vishapakagh Koshayan from Melbourne, Australia, the duo continue their revisiting of projects comprising Phases 4 and 5 all in a bid to rekindle Vahé's now floundering affections for the product.

With Part 1 of our MCU series including talk about, this episode features a few catch-up points about those projects plus includes conversation about Marvel's The Eternals.

Aside from the MCU, there is also talk that revisits themes from our 'Axe Assassin Albertson' trilogy of shows featuring a foray into AI-generated music. It's a fascinating conversation with a few very cool surprises included. And as if this bumper-sized episode wasn't enough, Vahé continues the show's rich lineage of providing new and original songs - specific to each episode. So for this go-round, we're proud to unveil the R&B-tinged gem, 'Eternally Yours'.

We want to extend a special thanks to our friends over at Blue-in-Green:RADIO for allowing us to share the enclosed audio. Since the shocking, and frankly horrifying, events of last month, the radio station has made the difficult decision to end phone-ins during their live broadcasts. Although a difficult decision to make, it is one that many have understood to be the only course of action available.

Despite the police maintaining that no laws were actually broken, the radio station has no recourse but to put the safety of its presenters and its listeners as its top priority.

Blue-in-Green:RADIO have issued an official statement and understandably want to draw a line under the matter. Releasing the full and unedited audio is the radio station's final comment on the matter. Please note that should you decide to listen that discretion is advised as the recording contains extremely strong language and distressing scenes.

Gosh, it's been an embarrassingly long time since we said 'hi' to you all but please don't mistake our silence with a lack of site activity. The 4ever team have continued to diligently beaver away on an exciting range of audio projects including our latest series, A-Z Til Infinity.

This is another series for the 90s hip-hop heads amongst us which features Dan Collacott, Tee-J Sutherland and Imran Mirza running through an alphabetised list of their favourite hip-hop icons. With two letters covered per episode, we're excited to unveil our first three episodes covering letters A-F. Who did we miss that was a favourite of yours?

Welcome to Episode #67 of the Close Encounters of the Nerd Kind podcast which sees Tee-J Sutherland, Dan Collacott and Imran Mirza discuss all things CM Punk.

The 2nd September 2023 saw the termination of CM Punk's relationship with AEW following a tumultuous period that saw some well-received matches, promos and rivalries, not withstanding two AEW World Championship title wins. Punk's time in AEW was sadly not without incident however. Following the All Out PPV, 4th September 2022, the press conference after the event saw Punk publicly address a series of backstage frustrations with the company's EVPs, C**t Cabana and members of the press. When confronted in his locker room by Kenny Omega and the Young Bucks, a fight ensued resulting in all participants receiving suspensions.

Nine months later, Punk's return to the company was short-lived as another backstage fight broke out between Punk and Jack Perry which was also believed to have involved AEW founder Tony Khan who promptly fired Punk for his behaviour.

This episode of CENK addresses the incidents, looks at the catalysts of each and what could have been done differently, plus we look at where Punk goes from here. And finally we look at CM Punk's legacy in AEW as well asking the question, "Is Punk the perennial victim or a self-destructive narcissist?"

After a lengthy hiatus - and with great excitement - the Close Encounters of the Nerd Kind podcast finally unveils Episode #66 and sees Dan, Tee-J and Imran reconnect over their shared passion for square circle related discussions.

More specifically, the team are discussing the ground-breaking AEW PPV - broadcast live from Wembley Stadium, Sunday 27th August 2023 - which also saw Tee-J in live attendance with some of our 4ever affiliates, Richard Roth and Richard Iacono. We discuss the full match card, engage in lots of supplementary AEW conversations and there's a fair amount of CM Punk chat too. (Further to this, our next episode will feature an in-depth assessment of CM Punk's legacy in AEW and pro wrestling in general - so look out for that no-doubt lengthy episode in early-October.)

On a personal note, Close Encounters of the Nerd Kind was the flagship show for the 4ever in Electric Dreams podcast network and while that network has started to grow with the 90s State of Mind podcast, Supple & Lean, the Minicasts and the soon-to-be unveiled The4everList series, it's an absolute joy to be able to bring Close Encounters and the original trio back to the airwaves.

Welcome to Episode #18 of the 90s State of Mind podcast - a collaborative project between 4ever in Electric Dreams and Blue-in-Green:RADIO. This podcast series sees Imran (London, UK) and Rhonda (California, USA) delve into some of their favourite releases from the 90s and for this episode, the pair celebrate the 1997 album from the pop pioneer, Janet Jackson's 'The Velvet Rope'.

The Velvet Rope is the sixth studio album by American singer Janet Jackson. The album was released on October 7, 1997, through Virgin Records. Prior to its release, she renegotiated her contract with Virgin for US$80 million, the largest recording contract in history at that time. Its composition fuses various genres, including pop, R&B, trip hop, folk, jazz, rock and techno music. Considered to be Jackson's most mature recording, it is regarded as a template for pop artists transitioning to a darker or rebellious sound and as a precursor to the development of alternative R&B. The album was certified triple platinum by the RIAA and has sold an estimated eight million copies worldwide.

Imran & Rhonda delve deep into this definitive 90s classic looking at the factors that drove Janet to create the record, its progressive depictions of sexuality, R&B and pop music of the time and of course we delve into the remixes in support of the project as usual.
