Dr. Rose Cesar shared her story on episode #5 of the Faces of Medicine podcast!!!

Born in Haiti, she was inspired to enter medicine while helping her mother, whose work as a nurse sometimes brought her to underserved parts of the nation. Though some tried to steer her in a different direction, she persisted in her pursuit of becoming a doctor and succeeded, even when life threw a curveball her way during her first year of medical school.

Dr. Kierstin Kennedy shares her story on episode #6 of the Faces of Medicine podcast!!!

Dr. Kennedy locked in on her future as a physician as a teenager. She was no stranger to hard work and had plenty of examples of industrious folks in her family, but no one in her immediate family had graduated from college. She charted her own unique course through college, medical school and into residency and confronted the fact that the traditional clinical path was not for her. In the process, she found her own voice and emerged as a true leader. Listen to hear the whole story!

She’s an infectious disease specialist and an educator who is also a nationally recognized expert and pioneer in the care of people with HIV/AIDS. Her accomplishments are impressive and accolades are many, but they don't tell the whole story. She had a loving and supportive family, but still had to push back against a world that couldn’t see her gifts and envision what she could & would become. Listen to hear the whole story!
