A vibrant explosion of colour has just landed on my bedroom wall with a new art purchase. Artist Lindi Forde creates joyful, energetic life affirming paintings. This one speaks to me every morning saying… OK get out there! Make today memorable!
My Boho tiny house is bursting with colour, texture, stories and artwork. Not a scrap of beige here! Wall colour still confounds me. I want bold art deco colours but I’m not brave enough to make a decision…
What colours would work? What do you think?

Fashion as art….. Issey Miyake’s Starfish dress is colourful and full of life. I love fashion that makes you gasp in wonder at where such originality is born .
Japanese designers, many who designed for Comme des Garcons, are showcased on the 3rd floor of NGV. It’s a tucked away part of the gallery which never fails in presenting exquisite fashion.
“I’d never wear that!” I hear my granny’s voice!
Not the point….seeing fashion as only utilitarian is too narrow…
I love the simple elegant lines of Issey Miyake where fabrics speak…. and oh yes, I would wear his designs, if only $$$!
The use of materials other than fabric is also interesting- leather, metal, plastic & rubber feature in some of the designs.

Quiet…… Tadao Ando designed Pavilion was a serene retreat after a hectic morning at the gallery…
Located opposite the NGV this space offers the city harassed soul the calm of water, shadows bouncing off dense concrete walls. The large disc canopy roof, 17 metre horizontal walls with a slit peeking out at the city & a reflecting pool ground you, bring calm and a chance to regroup before heading back into the city maelstrom….

Some commentary this morning about how instagram has become all noise, fast images, overkill.

Let’s take it back. If you’re not chasing follower count, overdosing on Likes and spiralling on swipes…. there’s a community out there just wanting to enjoy a pared back image once in a while.

A big week of writing for me and I’m seeking inspiration from Dylan Thomas’s writing cottage in Laugharne, Wales.
