I watched my entire reality flip into question WHILE I was interviewing her.

I share this knowing very well that it may or may not distress a number of people to know that I don’t vote.

My wish is that it may NOT outrage you, and that you can still find space to hear me, accept me, and love me.

I am not here to convince anyone of anything.

I want you to do what you feel is best for you, your family, this country, and this world.

Which is exactly what I am doing, too.

I am 33 years old and I have never v o t e d.

As an intuitive being, I often listen to my heart and body when making decisions, and it has always been a resounding NO.

I see so much corruption, lies, falsities, and hate surrounding politics that I have not yet felt in integrity to vote.

It is also a right, a right that I exercise by not voting.

My belief is that we ACTUALLY vote with our money. Where we spend our money, is what dictates the political gains in this world. Which is (part of) why I am vegan, , and shop at privately run establishments (even the grocery store).

So many things in our society are created and marketed to keep us distracted, to keep us looking outside of ourselves, and to take away our power.

The most powerful thing that I can feel good regarding politics, is not to vote.

I repeat that this IS my right, my choice, and what I feel most aligned with.

It feels and scary to share about because I understand the other side. There is a very real depth of emotions connected to ‘control’ and the dictation of our beings, but I know that the only thing realistically I can control and make a difference in this world with is: myself.

I support and love you, let us be the change we wish to see in this world.

I care about a lot of things, but my expression of care shows up differently than yours.

It’s ok if you don’t agree with me, or even judge me for not voting- I still love you.

It is obviously an unpopular opinion and took courage for me to express.

I think there was a time when votes mattered, but at this day in age everything is so corrupt|ran with greed, that I don’t trust my vote to make an actual impact.

I have never felt good about voting.

And so I have literally never voted.

I WAS the abusee. For most of my life.

It would have been a hell of a lot easier to blame my parents or my circumstances for my behavior and choices I made in life.

I chose to take responsibility for myself, and let me tell you it was not easy. It still isn’t. And a part of me sometimes rests on the fact that I was raised a certain way or only learned this kind of treatment.

Healing takes time and patience.

My journey and what channels through me may not be for everyone.

THIS episode especially, because it is such a controversial topic.

Instead of simply voting for the change I wish to see in this world, I am the change. I make hard decisions, spend more money than I should at mom and pop shops versus going to wal mart, I am vegan AF, and so much more.

Change individually and collectively also takes time and patience.

I am 33 years old and have never voted.
