Today I hit a PB on the leg press, and I’m absolutely over the moon with it, 453 kg (yes, I’m counting the sled weight). Back when I used to train legs, I was a squat purist and never bothered with the leg press. When I started training again at the start of the year, I gave it a go but ended up picking up an injury pretty quickly and stopped training legs all together. I’ve been back training legs since September, so I’m really happy with the progress. The fat belly actually helps stop me going too deep, if I go any deeper on the movement then my butt/lower back starts to round off the seat which obviously isn’t great. I’m training once a week at the moment, which is legs, giving my shoulder a few weeks completely off of training to see if I can get it healed so I can start the new year with the intensity I love. Yes I have got fat again, sadly not being able to train anything other than legs means I’ve reverted back to bad habits, which stops today.

It’s been a while since I’ve posted. I’m still training as hard as I can with this rotator cuff injury. It has really messed with my training for the last 2-3 months, but I’m doing what I can. It is slowly improving, I’m listening to my body and working around it by doing partial reps and not doing full range of motion for things that aggravate it. Can still only do pec dec for chest 😭 After 3 or so months off of training legs due to an injury I’m back training them so that’s good. I’m hoping to start hiking again in the next few weeks too. Picture has nothing to do with training but I thought Lucy looked cute.

I said I’d post every month so here it is, nothing too exciting. I’m down just a tad over 3 stone now which means I’ve lost 42.2lbs this year and another half an inch off of the waist. This month has been a good test, I’ve ended up eating out about 5 times, I’ve ended up having 5 take outs, while not perfect with my choices they’ve been infinitely better. This month was a good month just living my life; not stressing about every bite of food and enjoying life a bit more, and loving every second of training šŸ’ŖšŸ»

I am now exactly halfway between me at my heaviest (392lbs~) and my lightest (191lbs~) I only normally post the fat to fit, but I’ve experienced the struggles at both ends. In 2016 my biceps were 12ā€, 12.5 on a good day šŸ˜‚ Mad to think I still thought I was overweight then too šŸ˜‚

Tomorrow marks my first 6 months training. The results of the scales are… this last month I’m down 1.8lbs, which brings the total of the year to 38lbs. This last month may not seem like a big loss in terms of weight, and it isn’t, however a lot has changed. First; I’m down 1.5ā€ off of my waist which is awesome. Second; and this is a big one for me, I’ve gone from eating 1,700-1,900 calories a day (most days 1,750 and it was really effecting my work and mood) all the way up to 3,200 calories a day. I’ve been messing around with additional carbs around training and all sorts and I’ve found my sweet spot. My diet is structured so that in the coming days I can easily drop 200 calories, then a further 200 before I need to start really thinking about changing things up. I’ve always had an unhealthy attitude with food and training, and try to achieve maximum results as quick as possible, however, now I’m trying to squeeze the maximum results I can, from both eating and training before I move on. I’m pretty excited for the next 6 months progress. I’m really dialled in at the moment, these first 6 months have just been a warm up. Big changes to come. Going in to month 7 at 298lbs.

Even though I still have a long way to go, I’m really happy with how things are progressing. This was me after Scooter at the weekend—no flexing, just standing there for the photo. While there’s no definition yet, it’s nice to see some shape starting to form and the big belly becoming not quite as big.

I think this might be my favourite photo of myself from the past few years. I’m a lot happier these days—it feels good being fitter. Still a long journey ahead, but I’ve rediscovered a bit of self-love along the way.

Alright legends, pic for attention.

I fairly regularly get people asking if I’m going to come back to streaming or content creation. It is something I want to return to eventually. However, the problem is that I’m not very good at juggling games and the gym—it’s either one or the other. Right now, I don’t want to risk the health and fitness side of things, as there’s still a long way to go.

I post progress pics and the occasional flex, and you lot always have such kind words. But I feel like it’s a bit of a one-way street at the moment—I’m getting more out of this than I’m giving back.

So, what kind of content would you like to see?

Some people have mentioned live streaming my gym sessions, but that’s not really doable. I’ve got very limited time there, and as for hiking—I’m not quite fit enough yet, and reception can be a nightmare.

Here are a few ideas that have been suggested, which I’m open to—but I’m happy to hear others too:

Record some training and upload a video or two each week.
Sounds good in theory, but let’s be honest—it probably won’t be all that interesting.

Blog a bit more about the gym—what I’m eating, my lifts, what I’m training.
I like this one, since it feels more engaging and gives a better view of my progress.

React to funny videos or do skits related to them.
Could be fun, but I’m not sure how much comedic value there’d be in me just swearing at stuff—plus loads of people are already doing it.

A few short game streams each week (maybe 2 hours at a time).
I used to stream 140+ hours a month—not doing that again. Facebook Gaming seems to be dying, I’m not sure about going back to Twitch, and that leaves Kick.

Again, I’m not saying I’ll definitely do any of the above—just curious about what you’d like to see. If nothing else, I’ll keep posting flex pics and weight updates.

This is my journey progress so far. I’m always uploading pictures after the gym, or flexing, but the picture on the right is me this morning. The picture on the left was August last year, I wasn’t even at my heaviest in that picture. I like posting raw pictures like this, because it shows the truth behind the journey rather than a moment where you’re trying to look your best. I was going to wait until 6 months before doing this but I got impatient so I’m doing it today šŸ˜‚ I’m pretty excited to see where I’ll be at the end of the year. Sadly, I didn’t take any pictures just before I actually started as I didn’t know if this time was going to another failed attempt, but it’s not, this time is the oneā˜ļø
