What is Kontempo-Sining? Kontempo-Sining is the leading Medical Magazine around the Philippines. It brings the latest news, talks, and insights about the medical community in the country.
My artwork is very similar to a magazine cover, I made it more minimalistic but conveys the message properly. Like a magazine cover, our “Modern Heroes”, the medical frontliners, deserve recognition and appreciation. Even before the pandemic started, they are saving countless lives, and because of the pandemic caused by COVID-19, they sacrificed a lot of time, time for their families, for their selves, and risking their very own lives. Our medical frontliners work tirelessly day and night, and I think that other than recognition and appreciation, they also deserve the promises made by the government. As we can see, the nurses and doctors are disappointed because of the empty promises of the government, they haven’t received any hazard pay that is supposed to be given by the Department of Health, their calls are being neglected. I believed that the medical frontliners are our only hope and solution to this pandemic. When they are recognized and appreciated, I think that their voices will also be heard and actions will be made by the government benefitting them, and the people they swore to protect and save, brighter hope will shine on them. Better is what they deserve!
