️All the information you need to know before hiking Stoos ridge🏔🌱🐮
The way up
-There is plenty of parking at Morschach Talstation, which is the name of the cable car station.
-The first cable car departs from Morschach at 07:10 and then every 30 minutes after that.
-It costs 46 CHF round trip per person.
-When you get off the cable car in Stoos, turn right and follow the path for about 2 minutes. When you see a church on top of a hill to your left, the chairlift that takes you to Fronalpstock will be on your right.
-The first chairlift from Stoos to Fronalpstock is at 09:00, so unless you plan to walk from Stoos, there is no point in arriving earlier.
-The chairlift takes about 15 minutes and costs 34 CHF round trip per person. (Yes, you can use the return ticket from Klingenstock and vice versa.)
The hike
We would describe this hike as moderate difficult. There are only a few steep sections, and those have stairs. In some places the path is quite narrow and steep, so you should be cautious when passing others. There is one spot in particular that we felt was a bit unsafe—crossing a small wooden bridge/plank at the beginning of the incline. However, overall we felt very safe during this hike, and the path is well maintained.
-The hike is aproxomately 4,7km but it goes a lot up and down. (According to our research its about 400 m ascent and 400 meters descent)
The way down
-The last chairlift from Klingenstock goes down at 16:00.
-The cable car from Stoos back down to Morschach runs throughout the evening, so there is no need to worry about missing the cable car on the way down.
