**“This is not just a ship —
It is a living legend built on courage. ⚓
When the wind touches the sails,
the sea makes way for those
who leave fear behind and move forward.
The horizon is never the end —
it’s simply the beginning of a new journey.
Do you have what it takes to be the Captain?” 👀🔥**

The iron hulled ship Joseph Conrad was built by Burmeister & Wain, Copenhagen, Denmark, in 1882 as the George Stage and used to train Danish sailors. She was rammed by British ship Ancona and sunk in 1905, 22 boys between the ages of 14 - 22 died in the tragedy. She was raised and served in WW1 as a guard ship in the harbour. Australian author and sailor Alan Villiers purchased her in 1934 and saved her from the scrap yard, he sailed her around the world with a young crew manning her. In 1936 he sold her to American Huntington Hartford who used her as his personal yacht, and in 1939 he donated her to the U.S. Coastguard as a training ship. In 1947 she was tranferred to the Mystic Seaport, Stonington, Connecticut where she became a museum ship. There are moves by a Danish group to secure her return and to rename her George Stage.

HMS Conway-formerly the 90-gun second-rate ship of the line HMS Nile-is seen here being towed into Birkenhead for refit in 1936. Launched in 1839, the vessel served for decades before becoming a renowned naval training ship. Her long career ended tragically in 1953, when she ran aground and was subsequently declared a total loss while once again en route to Birkenhead for overhaul.

Fancy – Henry Every's One-Hit Wonder
Henry Every (or Avery) mutinied in 1694 and took the Fancy, a powerful privateer-turned-pirate ship. In his short career, he pulled off the biggest heist in pirate history: capturing the Mughal treasure ship Ganj-i-Sawai in the Indian Ocean, loaded with gold, jewels, and rupees worth millions today. He retired rich and vanished—never caught. The Fancy helped make him "the pirate king" who got away with it all.
