The person who shared this photo explained, “I took it in the summer of 2011 at my grandparents’ place in rural western Oregon. The only people around were my friend (the mom of two of the girls in the shot) and my 7-year-old son, who didn’t want to join them. I snapped the picture on an old iPhone, and here’s where it gets strange—the girl in the top left wasn’t actually there. We have no idea who she is. Neither of us noticed until days later, when I finally texted the photo after we got service back in town. My friend immediately replied, ‘Who the heck is THAT?!’ Years later, my daughter—one of the girls in the picture—asked me about it, which made me bring it up again. It still gives us chills. For context, the girl closest to the camera is standing in the deepest part of the creek. When I first posted this on my personal page, some people suggested the unknown girl could’ve been a drowning victim. Maybe. My grandparents bought the land in the early ’70s, when there was nothing built on it. Their first house burned down just a couple years later after a freak power surge, and they rebuilt on the same spot. My sister and I grew up there—wonderful memories, yes, but also eerily similar nightmares about certain places on the property.”

Hours later, their phone buzzed—a motion alert had been triggered. The camera had snapped a series of images, and what appeared was the stuff of nightmares. In the dim glow of their bedroom, a shadowy figure emerged. Grainy though the photo was, the outline was clear: a human-like shape with long, dark hair, standing watch. When they returned home, shaken, they brightened the images to see more—and that’s when the horror deepened. The figure’s features came into focus: a gaunt, skeletal face, rough stubble along its jaw, and limbs so thin they looked starved. It wasn’t just there—it seemed to be waiting. Some who’ve seen the photos think the answer lies in the house itself. In Britain, many homes were built over medieval tunnels once used by monks fleeing sieges. If that’s the case here, perhaps something from those forgotten passageways never left… and found its way upstairs.

“My brother took this shot of me while I was photographing wildlife in Yellowstone back in 2017. Later, as my dad was scrolling through the pictures on his computer, he noticed something chilling—a face staring through the car’s windshield in the background.
