Post gonna be long and a little music nerdy but I love this stuff!
My scorecard so far in the Drake vs Kendrick
Preliminary
1st Person Shooter Vs Like That
Knowing now that Kendrick was invited to be on the track it’s disappointing that we didn’t get “The Big 3” all together at once. Dope track and Cole stood out like he always does. But the clique up is what prompted Kenny to finally go at Drake semi directly after years of subs.
Like That may be the song of the summer already( although Million Dollar Baby is making a case). Dot was aggressive and left no doubts he wants to play with Drake and Cole. Cole stepped out 1st and I stood in the crowd and watched a few days later as he gracefully apologized and backed out. This set the stage for everything to come.

Round 1
Pushups vs Euphoria
Drake came out swinging with Pushups after the 2nd Metro/Future project dropped. Catchy funny sassy everything we expect from The Boy. He took care of Ross, Rocky, Weeknd, and told “Metro shut ya hoe ass up and make some drums nigga”🤣🤣🤣🤣
But the main target was Kendrick Lamar. Calling into question the splits on record deals and reminding everyone that he is the most successful hip
Hop artist. Love the “to have this talk with yo ass I had to hike down” line. Great start!!
“Everything they say about me is true”
That’s the reverse phrase that we hear before Kendrick begins a melodic breakdown on how he feels about Drake’s character. After the beat switch we get an aggressive Kenny letting us know he’s ready for engagement. He confirms what many have thought for years….he hates the character of Drake.
Game on!!!!

Both artists dropped some mid round jabs. Taylor Made seen Drake summon the AIs of Pac and Snoop to playfully bait Kdot to come outside. It received mixed reactions for the use of the AI. Personally I don’t like it and thought the Pac/Snoop stuff was corny. Kendrick surprised everyone with 6:16 in LA early Friday morning. Playing off Drake’s popular Timestamp records. It almost sounds like a track he had laying around that he went in added some bars for Drake to. Really enjoyed the Al Green sample on the production. Good track but not really sure if it fit a round so like TaylorMade I won’t score this one. On to Friday night……

Family Matters vs Meet the Grahams
Friday night May 3rd, 2024 will go down in Hip Hop history.
First we get Drake with his best entry into the battle. Family Matters. Released via his YouTube channel Family Matters comes a video featuring the Good Kid van being driven to a junkyard and eventually crushed. Again Aubrey takes some time out for the other guys but Kendrick is again the main target. Drake makes allegations of spousal abuse and the possibility that Lamar’s longtime friend Dave Free actually fathered one of Kendrick’s children. It’s aggressive witty and salacious! Drizzy appeared to have evened this battle up and maybe even pulled ahead.

Meet The Grahams
With probably the fastest reply in the history of rap beefs KDot from Compton transforms into Dr. Phil and begins a therapy session for the members of Drake’s family starting with his son. This is one of the most sinister beef records I’ve ever heard. After addressing his family members about Aubrey’s shortcomings he then speaks directly to him. Much like Family Matters there are a lot of allegations thrown around on this track such as improper sexual behavior, drug abuse, and hiding a 12 yr old daughter.
We have no idea if any of the allegations from either record are true but they make for great cinema. I actually score this round even.
