🔥🎶 FROM THE BILLBOARD CHARTS TO A MILWAUKEE CRIME SCENE 💔🔫
🔥🚨 RISING STAR SILENCED. STILL NO JUSTICE. 🚨🔥
MILWAUKEE, WI — October 19, 2007
🎤 She was on the brink of something big.
Yolanda “Lala” Brown, just 21, had already made her mark in R&B with her unforgettable vocals on Lyfe Jennings’ chart-topping hit “S.E.X.” That song soared to #3 on Billboard’s R&B charts—and Lala was next in line to shine.
🎶 But instead of hitting the charts again, she was gunned down in cold blood. And 18 years later, no one has been held accountable.
🧑🏽💻 Lala lived and worked with her boyfriend and music producer, JeTannue “Kool-Aid” Clayborn, 22, in their Milwaukee recording studio — Loud Enuff Productionz, located on 55th Street near Lisbon.
💻 Just before the murders, someone had broken into the studio and stolen $10,000 worth of equipment. Then came the final night.
🍽️ On October 19, 2007, the couple had dinner with Lala’s family. A relative dropped them back off at the studio.
📞 Days passed. No word. No returned calls. The lights were on inside, but no one answered the door. The building manager refused entry without a warrant.
So Lala’s family did what they had to do:
💥 They kicked the door down.
🕯️ Inside the studio, the decomposing bodies of Lala and JeTannue lay still. They’d been shot to death—left there for days.
📂 The police stalled. The investigation dragged. And nearly two decades later, no arrests. No motive. No closure.
Yolanda “Lala” Brown was more than a voice. She was a daughter, a mother, a rising star. Her murder and the murder of JeTannue Clayborn should not be forgotten.
🧊 This is one of Milwaukee’s most haunting unsolved cases. And someone out there knows something.
