HEADLINE: 4 FARMERS JOIN SOLDIERS DURING OPERATION AS TROOPS NEUTRALISE BANDITS IN KADUNA

In a series of successful operations in Kaduna, troops from the 1 Division Nigerian Army and Operation Whirl Punch have made significant strides against criminal elements terrorizing local communities.

This was made known in a statement by Lieutenant Colonel Musa Yahaya, the Acting Deputy Director of Army Public Relations 1 Division Nigerian Army.

He said on 1 November 2023, a clearance operation in the vicinity of Kampanin Doka village, Birnin Gwari LGA, resulted in the demise of four bandits.

According to him, the troops recovered weapons and items, including one AK 47 rifle, a magazine, a machete, a mobile phone, and fourteen motorcycles from the criminals.

He said in another incident on 2 November 2023, troops responded to a bandit attack reported by farmers harvesting crops in Sabon Sara village.

Part of the statement read:

”The troops, on receipt of the information, quickly mobilized to the area. Upon arrival, four of the farmers courageously joined the troops and neutralized one bandit while others withdrew in disarray with gunshot wounds.

”The troops recovered two AK 47 rifles while one of the farmers, Mallam Abdulrahman Aliyu, who sustained minor injuries during the encounter, was immediately evacuated to a nearby military hospital for treatment.

”Similarly, on 3 November 2023, acting on credible intelligence, troops carried out clearance operation around the general areas of Kankomi, Juji, Gwantu, Kujeni, Kikwari and Kaso all in Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

”Troops made contact with bandits and successfully neutralized two of the criminals. Items recovered include one AK 47 rifle, one AK 47 magazine, four 7.62MM Special ammunition, one Honda motorcycle and one Techno phone.”

The statement added that Major General VU Okoro, the General Officer Commanding 1 Division Nigerian Army and Force Commander Operation Whirl Punch, praised the troops for their bravery and lauded the farmers for their courageous assistance.

He urged the troops to maintain their efforts until all terrorists, bandits, and criminal elements within the Division’s area of responsibility were neutralised entirely.

IT PROVIDERS READY TO ADOPT AI SOLUTIONS

Global and local information technology providers are set to incorporate Artificial intelligence into the core of their businesses, the International Data Corporation has disclosed.
This is as AI continues to play a more prominent role in everyday life and processes.
In its worldwide information technology industry predictions for 2024 and beyond, the data insight firm noted that AI will affect technology decisions as organisations seek to extend their digital business efforts.
The group vice president, Worldwide Research at IDC, Rick Villars, said, “Every IT provider will incorporate AI into the core of their business, investing treasure, brain power, and time.
For CIOs, and digitally savvy C-Suite members, this pivot promises a cornucopia of new, innovative, AI-enhanced products/services but also threatens to inundate IT teams with many ‘now with AI’ options that increase risks associated with uncontrolled cost increases and loss of data control.”
The firm stressed that AI is going to be a major inflection point in the technology industry and spending on AI solutions will grow to more than $500bn by 2027. It explained that its forecast is made up of external drivers that will alter the global business ecosystem over the next 12 to 24 months and the issues technology and IT teams will face as they define, build, and govern the technologies required to thrive in a digital-first world.
Part of its forecasts include, “Core IT Shift: IDC expects the shift in IT spending toward AI will be fast and dramatic, impacting nearly every industry and application.

Additionally, the State government paid almost N50,000 in dowry on behalf of each groom to their bride.

As part of the mass wedding plan, The couples were also given a bed, bedding, food,and clothes, with the couple required to repay the gifts to the state government in case of divorce.The wedding was a top campaign promise for the current governor

MAJOR PROTEST ROCKS SOUTHWEST STATE AS RESIDENTS PROTEST HUNGER, HIGH FOOD COST.

Some aggrieved Nigerians marched across the streets of Ogun State on Wednesday to protest the soaring cost of living under the APC government led by President TInubu.
Most of the protesters called for the government to improve social welfare interventions to reduce hardship.

From the viral videos, residents, youths and some market women, said the effort of the Tinubu-led government and the economic incentives were not enough to ease hardship.

They also lamented the huge spike in the price of food items and commodities.

Wunmi, the widow of late Nigerian rapper, Ilerioluwa Olademeji Aloba, aka Mohbad, has said she is open to a DNA test on their son, Liam.
DAILY POST recalls that following the controversial death of Mohbad, a cross-section of Nigerians has been demanding for a DNA test on his son, Liam to ascertain his true paternity.

The late rapper’s father, Mr James Aloba, had made it clear that a DNA test was necessary, demanding that it should be conducted in his or his representative’s presence.
Nollywood actress, Iyabo Ojo disclosed in a recent post on her Instagram page that Mohbad’s wife is also open to a DNA test on her son.

She shared a screenshot of a message from the late singer’s wife that read; “Hello ma’

“I’ve decided not to speak on anything until 7th of November, which is the coroner inquest because I do not want any side distraction, all I want is Justice for my husband which I believe the Nigeria government are working on, after everything, I’ll either grant an interview or tell my own story before the whole world, and also, DNA is definitely a must!!!”
Ojo captioned the post; “To everyone who wants to hear from Mohbad’s wife, this is her response…

“Ikeja General Hospital, please, we hope that by the 7th of November 2023, the next date for the coroner inquest, the full autopsy results will be out..

Isaac, Oyedepo’s second son was said to have resigned from his father’s church, Living Faith Worldwide in a bid to form his own ministry.

Isaac, in a statement said he is still a member of Living Faith Church Worldwide and that the relationship between him, family and father was still very intact.

But he refused to confirm if he has resigned from Living Faith Church or not, choosing to warn the media not to publish anything about him without his consent, saying it amounted to breach of his privacy.

Some suspected armed robbers invaded Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED) in the early hours of Tuesday, subjecting four female students to a brutal act of rape.
The perpetrators targeted the Abapawa area of the campus, which houses students, perpetrating the heinous act. The incident has sparked outrage and concern among the university community and beyond.

The State Deputy Governor, Noimot Salako-Oyede, accompanied by Commissioner of Police, Alamutu Abiodun, and Commissioner of Education, Science, and Technology, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu, visited the scene to assess the situation and address the concerns of the affected students.
Expressing deep concern over the incident, Deputy Governor Salako-Oyede pledged that the perpetrators of this heinous crime would be brought to justice.

She further disclosed that the victims had been moved to the state-owned Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital, Sagamu, for proper medical attention.

“Earlier today (Monday ), after receiving the distressing news about an armed robbery at some TASUED hostels and the brutal rape of four female students, His Excellency Prince Dapo Abiodun directed me to immediately visit the victims and the campus on a fact-finding mission and to pledge the government’s support in ensuring this doesn’t happen again,” Salako-Oyede said.
The Deputy Governor also noted that, in collaboration with the Commissioner of Police and the Commissioner of Education, she has held a crucial meeting with the management and students of TASUED to discuss concrete steps to bolster security measures and foster a safe environment on campus and in the adjacent host community.
