Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) chief Chirag Paswan on Saturday claimed that over 200 people died in the Chapra h***h tragedy and accused the state government of hiding the actual number of deaths by “burning the bodies” without any post-mortem.

“More than 200 people have died. Truth is being suppressed. The last rites were performed without a postmortem. They (the government) are threatening the victims’ families to jail them if they tell the truth,” Paswan said while talking to ANI. Paswan further said that Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar supports the corrupt officials with his “silence”.

Completing its 100 days, Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra reached Dausa in Rajasthan on Sunday. The infighting of the two factions in Rajasthan Congress, one that of CM Ashok Gehlot supporters and the other of Sachin Pilot supporters have often been in news.

On Sunday, both Ashok Gehlot and Sachin Pilot joined Rahul Gandhi as the foot march began, however, suddenly, some people carrying party flags started raising slogans such as “Sachin Pilot Zindabad (Long live Sachin Pilot), Hamara CM kaisa ho Sachin Pilot jaisa ho (How should be our chief minister? Like Sachin Pilot.) The video of the same was tweeted by ANI.

China had been praised worldwide for lifting its 60 per cent of population out of poverty, according to reports. However, 2022 marks Beijing’s diminishing stature on the world platform amid its ‘Zero Covid’ policy, human rights violations and falling GDP growth.

Among the world’s 15 most populous developing countries, China has seen the greatest drop in poverty rates. China’s transformation from an agrarian society into the world’s second-largest economy has lifted hundreds of millions of people out of extreme poverty. China was responsible for just over 60 per cent of this decrease. Decades of rapid economic growth in China helped to lift 748.5 million people out of extreme poverty, dropping the country’s poverty rate from 66.3 per cent to just 0.3 per cent, according to reports.

Currently lodged in Tihar jail in a Rs 200 crore extortion case, Conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar has dropped yet another ‘letter bomb’ threatening to expose Delhi CM and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) president Arvind Kejriwal.

In his letter addressing CM Kejriwal as ‘Maha Thug’, Chandrashekhar alleged that Kejriwal is sending threats and offers through his “agents and very own jail administration.” Chandrashekhar claimed that Kejriwal’s operatives are pressing him to follow Kejriwal’s instructions and write letters to the media and Delhi LG that he was “pressurized to by the BJP to write against you (Kejriwal) and AAP.”

Senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Friday blamed Aam Aadmi Party for Congress’ dismal performance in the Gujarat assembly elections. Gandhi said that Congress would have won if AAP had not fought the polls.

‘If there was no AAP in Gujarat who disturbed Congress’ narrative and issues, we would have been in a good position to defeat the BJP in Gujarat,” said the Gandhi scion whose party scraped a mere 17 seats in the 182-seat Gujarat Vidhan Sabha.

A day after external affairs minister S Jaishankar slammed Pakistan at the UN for supporting terrorism, Pakistan’s foreign minister resorted to personal attacks on PM Narendra Modi. Using the language of Indian left-liberals and the Congress party, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari called PM the‘ butcher of Gujarat’, in response to the Indian foreign minister pointing out how terrorist Osama Bin Laden was found living in Pakistan when US was looking for him everywhere.

In his address at the United Nations Security Council, S Jaishankar reminded the world how Pakistan had hosted Osama Bin Laden and is sponsoring terror activities in India including the 2001 attack on the Indian parliament.

Fact- checker’ and Alt News co-founder Mohammed Zubair tried to ‘fact-check’ journalist Rahul Shivshankar but ended up spreading fake news himself. While Times Now editor Rahul Shivshankar had quoted a report by former RBI governor Raghuram Rajan that talked about Islamic banking, Zubair claimed that the report was by Dr. C Rangarajan.

Rahul Shivshankar made the comments after Raghuram Rajan joined the Bharat Jodo Yatra of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. Calling it ironic, he wrote, “In 2008, Rajan prepared a report on improving infrastructure for financial inclusion, recommending interest-free banking in compliance with Shariat.” Shivshankar then asked, “Is pushing interests of only one community an act of inclusivity?

Union finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Wednesday hit back at Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Mahua Moitra over her ‘Pappu’ jibe. The minister opted for an explanatory speech at the Lok Sabha to take on the TMC leader, who questioned the “macroeconomic fundamentals” and also accused the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led BJP government at the Centre of spreading “falsehood” about India's growth.

India strongly criticised Pakistan on Wednesday after its Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari raised the Kashmir issue in the UN Security Council. Addressing the gathering, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar asserted that a country that hosted slain al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden and attacked a neighbouring Parliament does not have the credentials to “sermonize" in the powerful UN body.

Ahmedabad’s Juhapura based ‘Muslim Fighters Club’ organised a meeting on Sunday, November 27, 2022, a week before the polls, where about 3,000 Muslim families pledged their allegiance to the Arvind Kejriwal led Aam Aadmi Party. In presence of a Maulana who recited Islamic verses and amid ‘Naara-e-Takbeer, Allahu Akbar’ chants, ‘Muslim Fighters Club’ extended their support to Arvind Kejriwal.

‘Muslim Fighters Club’ also coined two slogans for AAP. “Haath ma jhaadu leelu leelu, AAP-Muslim ilu-ilu’ which loosely translates to green broom (AAP election symbol) in our hands, AAP and Muslims have ilu-ilu (ilu is often used for I-Love-You) and ‘Vote for MAGI’ where MAGI stands for Manish Sisodia (M), Arvind Kejriwal (A), Gopal Italia (G) and Isudan Gadhvi (I).

Bharatiya Janata Party leaders shared the video on social media and accused Yadav of selling tickets for the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) elections. BJP said, “AAP MLA got beaten up. Gulab Singh Yadav was accused of selling tickets, because of which he got beaten up by his own party workers. Kejriwal Ji, this will happen to all your corrupt MLAs one by one.”

On the other hand, AAP MLA has rejected the allegations of ‘selling’ tickets for upcoming polls. He said, “The BJP has gone berserk and making baseless allegations of selling tickets. I am at Chawla police station now. I have seen BJP’s corporator and their candidate from this ward present at the police station, trying to save those people.”
