I am currently enjoying working with Gateshead Councils Fostering Service on their digital marketing, recruitment and retention of foster carers.
There is a severe shortage of foster carers in the of England and there are many children needing a variety of foster placements from emergency to long term, aged from babies to teenagers.
If you feel you can open your heart and your home to foster children, please visit the Gateshead Council Fostering Service website for more information: www.gateshead.gov.uk/fosterwithgateshead
“Do I need a spare bedroom to foster a child?” 🛌
This is one of our most asked frequently asked questions at our online fostering information events.
The short answer is yes. If you wish to foster a child aged 3 or older, they must have their own room in your house. However, if you wish to foster children under two, they can sleep in a cot in your bedroom.
Having their own room is important for the safety, privacy, play and emotional needs of a child in foster care. They need a safe place where they can relax, play and be themselves.
