❗️IMPORTANT FOR Business Owners:
Starting May 22nd (some may have sooner/later dates). Facebook will begin deleting Facebook Live Videos older than 30 days.
Make sure you pull them off if you want to keep them.
For business owners who utilize Facebook Live for orders, comments, or other interactions, it’s crucial to adjust your content management practices accordingly to ensure important videos + comments of orders are saved before automatic deletion.
—— More details on the policy.
As of February 19, 2025, Facebook has implemented a new policy where all Facebook Live videos are available for 30 days after their broadcast date, after which they will be automatically deleted. This change applies to both new and existing live videos. For existing videos older than 30 days, Facebook will notify users via email and in-app messages before deletion, providing a 90-day window to download or transfer the content.
To preserve your live videos, Facebook offers several options:
✨Download Individual Videos: Navigate to your profile or page, locate the desired video, open it in full-screen mode, click on the three dots (options menu), and select “Download video.”
✨Bulk Download: Access your Activity Log, filter for “Your live videos,” select the videos you wish to download, and choose the “Create File” option to download them collectively.
✨Transfer to Cloud Storage: Facebook provides tools to transfer your videos directly to cloud services like Dropbox or Google Drive.
If you need more time, you can request a postponement of the deletion for up to six months. To do this, open the notification about the impending deletion, tap “Learn more,” and then select “Postpone.”
