Supa Dam Issues Final Flood Warning

Bengaluru, September 1, 2025: Due to continuous rainfall in the catchment area of the Kali River Project's Phase 1 Supa Dam, KPCL has issued a third and final flood warning for the downstream areas of the reservoir.

Heavy, persistent rain in the Supa Dam catchment has caused a significant inflow of water, leading to a steady rise in the reservoir's water level. The dam's maximum level is 564.00 meters, with a storage capacity of 147.55 TMC. The current water level stands at 558.87 meters, with a water storage of 126.345 TMC, which is 85.63% of its total capacity.

The dam's current inflow is approximately 21,261 cusecs. KPCL has stated that if this inflow continues, the reservoir is likely to reach its maximum level. To ensure dam safety, excess water will be released at any time.

In light of this, the public living in the downstream areas and along the river basin are urged to evacuate to safer locations with their families and livestock. KPCL has also requested that all activities, including boating, fishing, water sports, and other recreational activities, be suspended in the river basin below the dam until the monsoon season ends.
