🚨 What NOT to Do If You Want to Make Money Online as a Therapist 🚨
Therapists and counselors, I see this all the time—amazing professionals who want to earn extra income online but make these common mistakes that keep them stuck. If you want to successfully monetize your expertise through digital marketing, affiliate marketing, or selling digital products, here’s what NOT to do:
❌ 1. Waiting Until You “Have More Time”
There will never be a perfect time. You don’t need hours a day to start—you just need consistent small steps in the right direction.
❌ 2. Trying to Be on Every Platform at Once
Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest… STOP. Instead, pick ONE platform, master it, and then expand. Trying to do it all leads to burnout.
❌ 3. Only Promoting Instead of Providing Value
If your content is all “BUY THIS” without actually educating or helping your audience, you’ll struggle to make sales. Instead, show up with VALUE—tips, strategies, and solutions. Sales will follow.
❌ 4. Thinking You Need a Website Before Starting
A website is great, but it’s NOT required to make money online. You can start with just social media and an email list—then build a website later.
❌ 5. Creating Content for Other Therapists Instead of Your Ideal Customer
Unless your niche is helping therapists, don’t tailor your content to them! Focus on who you actually want to help—whether that’s people struggling with mental health, relationships, self-improvement, or another niche.
💡 Here’s What to Do Instead:
âś… Pick a niche and an income stream (affiliate marketing, digital products, etc.).
âś… Start sharing valuable, helpful content online.
âś… Focus on one platform and build an engaged audience.
âś… Monetize through digital products or affiliate links.
