WFH looks … I may not make it 21 days straight, but I figure if I can get a full 3 weeks (total) then it will be somewhat of a decent routine😬😐😩😆

You have probably heard of the saying "Life Begins at the End of Your Comfort Zone". I recently had a chance to put this sentiment to real life practice. In my recent posts, I spoke of leaning into crafting this year. Sewing and junk/collage/art journaling has been a new fav!☺

The recently sponsored a bring your own craft night (no fee)! Thursday after work, I was sitting on the couch, not looking forward to a 45+ minute drive through Atlanta traffic to the event. Truth is, almost every place you want to go to in Atlanta is a 45+ minute drive😩😜 I pushed through the nerves of showing up to an event solo (where I likely would not know anyone) and ATL traffic to be in a positive space with so many creative people.

And guess what? My first junk journal made it on the news! Ain't that something. You never know what stepping out of that comfort zone will get ya🤣😅

So, here is your sign to try something new and beat back that little voice that says "I don't feel like it today"

A couple of years ago I was out with a friend (who I hadn't seen in awhile). We did the customary life catch-up convo (updates about work, family, dating/marriage, health, etc). Then, we were left to discuss ourselves LOL. It really dawned on me ...I am a total snooze-fest outside of work! 😴 No hobbies, no passions, just a whole lot of doom scroll on the phone at home. I realized I needed to spice things up and find my inner spark! ✨ So, I took the leap and started exploring.

I took several sewing classes and purchased a sewing machine and serger for home to build those skills. I started following creators who are crafty and started incorporating some of those elements in my home, to make it a more whimsical, fun place to be :) Now, I'm a tote bag sewing rockstar (in my own mind at least🤣, a junk journaling ju**ie, and an adult coloring book aficionado (who knew those things could be so calming? 🎨).

I'm no longer just a one-trick pony; I'm a hot mess of creativity and self-expression! 🎉 What about you? How do you make life more fun, interesting, and whimsical?

When I first started WFH in 2021, I was rocking the whole 'business on top, party on the bottom' vibe for my telemedicine clinic 🤣. But when I switched to a non-clinical role in a company with with a 'cameras off' culture, I was all about the comfy PJs and workout clothes. Let's be real, who needs real pants when you can wear stretchy ones? 😂 But then I realized, I was stuck in a rut (or should I say, stuck in my PJs). So, I'm challenging myself to 'get dressed' for 21 days to make it a habit.

And honestly, it's been a game-changer - I feel like a whole new person when I put on 'real' clothes! 💃 I've been thrifting for comfy outfits that can keep up with my day, including impromptu walks outside (because, spring is coming... eventually 🌷). Here are some of my recent weekday looks. Okay, so I've missed a couple of days, but I'm determined to make it to 21! 🎉
