First weekend back in the van 🚐

I’m obsessed with Downton Abbey atm so we popped to Yorkshire to visit a actual abbey (Fountain Abbey) and then swanned round Beningbrough Hall to the sound of a lady playing a piano 🥹
Ps the first night it hail stoned so we are still on with the “first camping trip of the year has snow”
Absolutely buzzing that our new blinds work too (forgot to take a photo!)

The views on the way up were stunning though even though I can’t feel my feet and we had to swim in the loch in the rain cos we don’t have a shower and we stunk 🙃

We made it to White cliffs of Dover 🙌🏼📍✨
It’s been a bloody good few months and I don’t mind going home when I know I’l be back in a few weeks for a another road trip 🇪🇺

But I tell you what, I cannit wait for a decent Sundays dinner, no one does them like us northerners ✨

Do we recommend every campsite we stay on? We don’t 😅

The one we stayed on this weekend wasn’t great but we have a one from May we didn’t share so…

Campsite recommended ✨ Apps Court Farm, Walton-on-Thames, Surrey 📍

- We paid £18 a night electric for the May bank holiday (but I think it’s more expensive in the high season)
- absolutely perfect if you want to be in London area but feel like your a million miles away from city life
- literally on the Thames so perfect for kayaking/paddle boarding
- huge field so you can make as much noise/ let dogs run free
- car boot on a Sunday so you literally wake up with a huge car boot in 1 min walk
- allowed fires 🔥✨

We’ve been playing the weather olympics for the last month and we finally lost in Dover 😅🌧️

The weather olympics is a strategic game of waking up every morning and working out where we have the best chance of not getting rain and driving there

We’ve managed no proper rain for at least 3 weeks and done about 3000 miles hahah
We should be safe again by 7am and we will restart the game but until then it’s lazy day listening to the rain on the van ✨
