In a vibrant display of political fervor, Chitral warmly welcomed its newly elected representatives, Member of National Assembly (MNA) Abdul Taif, and Member of Provincial Assembly (MPA) Suraya Bibi, Deputy Speaker of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, as they arrived in the district. The duo's arrival sparked celebrations, with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) supporters orchestrating a grand procession from the Lowari Tunnel, marking the entry point into Chitral.

Enthusiastic PTI workers and supporters gathered along the route, including Ziarat, Ashriat, Drosh, Sayedabad, Buroz, Chamerkan, and Chitral town, to greet the parliamentarians. In Chamerkan, a particularly touching moment occurred as two young girls, the daughters of Syed Mukhtar Ali Shah Advocate, presented bouquets to the honored guests, symbolizing the high hopes and expectations of the local populace.

A ceremony in Drosh, presided over by Haji Gul Nawaz Khan, President of Tehsil Drosh, further accentuated the celebratory mood. Khan, imparting wisdom from his political journey, reminded the newly elected officials of the transient nature of power and the imperative to serve selflessly for enduring success.

Addressing the gathering, MNA Abdul Taif shared his vision for Chitral, emphasizing the district's untapped tourism potential. Despite its natural beauty, Taif highlighted the need for infrastructural development, particularly in road improvements, to unlock the region's economic prospects. He committed to raising these issues in the assembly and encouraged constituents to actively communicate their concerns and suggestions.

The day's festivities culminated in Chitral town, where Tehsil Nazim Prince Amanur Rehman hosted an Iftar party at the Governor's Cottage in honor of the visiting dignitaries. The event, attended by a multitude of residents, reflected the community's high spirits and optimism towards their newly elected leaders.

Chitral Launches Major Plantation Drive: 200,000 Saplings to Combat Climate Change

A significant plantation initiative has been launched in Chitral, where 200,000 saplings are being distributed free to bolster the region's greenery and combat environmental challenges. The campaign, inaugurated at the police line, witnessed the participation of key officials, including Divisional Forest Officer Abdul Majid and Assistant Commissioner Dr. Atif Jalib.

Highlighting the drive's importance, DFO Abdul Majid emphasized the multifaceted benefits of planting trees, from enhancing Chitral's beauty to providing oxygen and supporting wildlife.
