Do you live in or near Christchurch, New Zealand?
Will you be travelling there soon, and in the vicinity on Sunday 6th July, at 5.30pm?
If you are, then make a note in your travel diary, as Nod Ghosh will be launching her new book 'How to Bake a Book', at that very time on that very date.
The book - a practical, fun, funny, how-to guide about writing, drafting, redrafting, editing, marketing, and getting your work published and out there to be read - will be launched at Nod's home. (Contact Nod for the address.)
As Nod notes, a "home birth" is a lot less hassle than a bookshop launch, where she always worries someone will spill red wine on the stock, and there’s a ton of street parking at Nod's place, too. Plus, she has enough space for a fun launch.
Nod's mates suggested a cooking demonstration, since there are actual recipes in the book, so guests will get to experience her mother’s rather excellent potato curry.
Then she might read a bit from the book.
Maybe you can all do one of the fun exercises from the book together.
If you want to, wear red to match the cover.
If you really want to look like the book, attach a couple of spoons to your body!
Hope you can make it ...
R.S.V.P. to Nod so she knows how many potatoes and bars of chocolate to buy. (Yes, it's a chocolatey sort of book!)
And if you can't make the launch, then feel more than free to purchase a book online in one or more of its various formats, all listed below.
