Since my Internet connection is still iffy, I decided to try something a little different with the main show scores.

You can see the final ratings in the graphic (and copied below). But, if you want to know more, go to http://tiny.cc/cc1973-41 to read our full notes.

Just don't judge us -- remember, these are just notes we wrote while preparing for the show, not a finished, polished report. You'll also get a peek at our different styles: while my brother is a little more loose and spontaneous, I write my notes more as a script for the conversation I plan to have with my brother. Haha. What can I say? I rehearse everything. 😂

It really was a pretty good week, though.

* Gladys Knight and the Pips - Imagination - ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 1/2
* Renaissance - Ashes Are Burning - ⭐⭐⭐ 3/4
* John Prine - Sweet Revenge - ⭐⭐⭐ 3/4
* Genesis - Selling England by the Pound - ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Now I need to buy MORE albums. *sigh* Oh no. Just hate that for me. 😉

It was actually a pretty good week for music! Unfortunately, it wasn't such a good week for recording. We did get a show out! Not the main show. 😖 It just wasn't happening this time. Our Side 3 came out yesterday as scheduled, though!

And fear not, we did review all of the week's albums, and I'll be posting our ratings and an abbreviated review of each of those ASAP. It's not happening tonight, because I am out of town with terrible service that is making it difficult to do anything, and I do not have the brain to fight it at the moment. If all goes according to plan, I'll be able to get those all up tomorrow.

No spoilers, you'll have to be patient, but good things come to those who wait! (And those who listen to this music ... wait, is that a spoiler? Whoops!)

In the meantime, you can go check out our Week 41 Side 3 episode. Some of that wasn't half bad either, but you'll have to listen to the show to find out which of the 6 albums are worth your time. 😉

And please bear with us and stay tuned for the main show reviews, coming soon, I promise! As soon as I get better Internet and less of a headache, I'll get those up.

❤️

Well? Have you checked out this week's episodes yet? You know you want to. You know you NEED to. I mean, look at that list of artists: Barry White, Elton John, Lou Reed, Argent.
And then we still covered some big names on Side 3, too: Elvis Presley, Linda Ronstadt, Bryan Ferry, Isaac Hayes, Caravan and Billy Cobham.

I also added a graphical representation of last week's post info to the end of the slides today, since I couldn't get it to post last week. And we sadly didn't even get to record the main show for Week 39! 😭 But we absolutely couldn't skip it entirely, so make sure you swipe through all the pics to see our thoughts.

For a quick overview:
* Status Quo - Hello! (Sept. 28, 1973): ⭐⭐⭐ 3/4
* Livingston Taylor - Over the Rainbow (Sept. 29, 1973): ⭐⭐⭐ 3/4
* Rick Derringer - All American Boy (October 1973): ⭐⭐⭐⭐
* Dobie Gray - Drift Away (February 1973): ⭐⭐⭐⭐

We missed that last one back in February, obviously, but thankfully we came across it before the year ended.

And now we're caught back up and back on track! Check back next week on Spotify for the show and, as always, here on our social media.

Thanks for sticking with us even through all the busy weeks and the technical issues! ❤️

FINALLY! I'm back! Sorry for our absence this week; Instagram was not cooperating and would not allow me to post. 😡 Lots of updating and restarting and reinstalling and ranting and raving later, here I am.

I think. I hope.

I do have info from last week to share, but let's call this my (successful) test post. I'm assuming it's going to work, since it let me get this far. If I'm right, I'll post the real stuff tomorrow. Along with THIS week's stuff, because hey, it's Tuesday night already! Because we do not, in fact, have 8 days a week. Tuesday comes right after Monday. No matter what sleepy Monday-night Amie may think. 👀 Don't ask.

Despite some technical difficulties, we did it! We got the episode(s) out! Haha.

It wasn't a bad week. I mean, okay, some parts weren't great, but we've had worse.

It was also a nice mix of familiar and new artists. Some old favorites, but also a first taste of some different music, which is a big part of the reason we do this show.

I mean, they may not all be huge winners, but we are better informed now than we were.

So, without further ado, this week's albums!
Main show: Art Garfunkel, Jackson 5 and Poco. Side 3: Henry Cow, Dolly Parton, the Raspberries, Tim Buckley, Average White Band and Marlena Shaw.

As always, I encourage you to go check out the show (s) and then let us know what you think!

Well, it was a week. And I'm just going to leave it at that!

But, we do have a couple new episodes (and 9 more albums)!

So, without further ado ... let us know what you think of this week's albums, and our opinions of those albums.

Artists this week on the main show are Johnny Cash and "his woman" June *shudder* (listen to the episode and you'll get it), Uriah Heep, and Kris Kristofferson and Rita Coolidge. Yep, only 3 albums this time! But our Side 3 show has an additional six albums: JJJ - Frank Zappa/The Mothers of Invention and Family; LLL - The Ohio Players and John Mayall; AAA - Elvin Jones and Leon Russell.

Go check it out!

I've been delayed in posting this week for multiple reasons ... mainly that I'm old, haha. (More on that on the audio cast, thank you very much lovely big brother. 😂)

But, delayed post or not, we did have a new episode this week! In fact ... we actually have TWO new episodes. 😯 (The other reason I delayed!) And it looks like that's going to become the norm, because, well, those crazy record labels just put out waaaaaaaay too much music in the latter half of the year, haha. So we're doubling up on the solos to fit more in.

So, rather than have one extremely long episode each week (and to make it easier for us to listen and record) we have created a second, "Side 3" show for our solo reviews, while what we call the main show -- the albums we both listen to and discuss together -- will remain the same.

Swipe through the pics or continue reading for the full list of this week's artists!

Main show: Marvin Gaye, Brownsville Station, Four Tops and Cher.
Side 3: Rolling Stones and James Brown (Jeff's Just Jamming), James Gang and the Kinks (Luke Loves Listening), Dawn and Gilbert O'Sullivan (Amie's All Alone).

It was a long week but actually a pretty good week. Take a listen!

🎶🎶 Reunited and it feels so good ... 🎶🎶

But, you know, not in a romantic way.

But! Yes, we are both back this week! It was a little iffy for a while whether we could manage it, but honestly, I think we were both pretty determined to share our thoughts this time. 😁

I'm not going to blather on and waste your time, just go listen to this week's podcast! It was a good week!

This was a rough week in some ways, but musically ... not so bad. Not bad at all, in fact!

Have you listened to the episode yet? We covered the Isley Brothers, LaBelle, Etta James, the Spencer Davis Group, John Fahey, Nazareth, and Willie Colón with Hector Lavoe. And I don't want to spoil anything, but at least some of those were very pleasant indeed!

Check out the episode, listen to the albums for yourself if you'd like, and let us know your thoughts!
