On 27th August 2025, the student community of Gargi College took Anti-Ragging Pledge. This collective step further strengthened the commitment to creating a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment.

The program was organized on the Gargi College campus, where students gathered with great enthusiasm. The Proctorial Committee and other members of the Student Council addressed the students. In their inspiring speeches, they emphasized the values of respect, empathy, and responsibility, which left a deep impact on the students.

The pledge and addresses were delivered in both mediums of language - Hindi and English. In the address, emphasis was laid on the fact that unity in diversity begins with mutual respect and understanding.

The event concluded with spirited slogans raised by both students and teachers that echoed across the campus —
“Ragging is not a part of University culture.”

27 अगस्त 2025 को गार्गी महाविद्यालय के परिसर में सभी विद्यार्थी एक सशक्त पहल - एंटी रैगिंग शपथ के लिए एक साथ आए। इस सामूहिक कदम ने सुरक्षित, सम्मानजनक और समावेशी वातावरण बनाने की प्रतिबद्धता को और पुष्ट किया। इस कार्यक्रम का आयोजन गार्गी महाविद्यालय परिसर में किया गया जहां सभी विद्यार्थी उत्साह पूर्वक एकत्रित हुए। महाविद्यालय के प्रॉक्टर एवं यूनियन सलाहकार समिति के सदस्यों ने विद्यार्थियों को संबोधित किया। प्रेरक संबोधन में सम्मान, सहानुभूति और जिम्मेदारी के मूल्यों पर ज़ोर दिया, जिसका छात्रों पर गहरा प्रभाव पड़ा।

शपथ और संबोधन हिंदी और अंग्रेजी दोनों माध्यमों में हुआ। शिक्षिकाओं के संबोधन में इस बात पर ज़ोर दिया कि विविधता में एकता आपसी सम्मान और समझ से ही शुरू होती है।

कार्यक्रम का अंत विद्यार्थी और शिक्षकों के द्वारा उत्साहपूर्ण नारे के साथ हुआ जो परिसर के कोने-कोने तक पहुंचा - ' रैगिंग विश्वविद्यालय संस्कृति का हिस्सा नहीं है’।

On September 3, 2025, Gargi College celebrated Teachers’ Day with the theme “Yaadon ka Safar: Revisiting the College Life,” organized by the Student Council as a tribute to the invaluable contributions of the faculty. The event began with a warm welcome and inspiring words from Principal Prof. Sangeeta Bhatia. It featured soulful music by Samranjini – The Indian Music Society, a graceful recital by Nazaakat – The Indian Dance Society, a powerful act by Upstage – The Dramatics Society, and a vibrant showcase by Henosis – The Northeast Society.

Adding joy and surprise, the celebration included a fun game, along with two special videos—students’ heartfelt messages on values learned from their teachers, and nostalgic reflections by teachers in their college days. Quizzito – The Quiz Society further engaged the faculty with an interactive quiz, while the most awaited highlight was a spirited dance by the Student Council members.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms. Naina Dhamija, President of the Student Council, who expressed deep gratitude to the teachers.

3 सितंबर 2025 को गार्गी कॉलेज में छात्र परिषद ने शिक्षक दिवस समारोह का आयोजन “यादों का सफर: रीविजिटिंग द कॉलेज लाईफ” विषय पर किया। यह कार्यक्रम शिक्षकों के अमूल्य योगदान को सम्मानित करने और उन्हें अपने कॉलेज जीवन की यादों को फिर से जीने का अवसर देने के उद्देश्य से आयोजित हुआ।

कार्यक्रम का आरंभ प्रधानाचार्या प्रो. संगीता भाटिया के प्रेरणादायी उद्बोधन से हुआ। इसके पश्चात समरंजिनी – द इंडियन म्यूज़िक सोसाइटी ने मधुर संगीत प्रस्तुति दी, नज़ाकत – द इंडियन डांस सोसाइटी ने मनमोहक नृत्य प्रस्तुत किया, अपस्टेज – द ड्रामेटिक्स सोसाइटी ने प्रभावशाली नाट्य प्रदर्शन किया और हेनोसिस – द नॉर्थईस्ट सोसाइटी ने सांस्कृतिक रंग भर दिए।

शिक्षकों के लिए रोचक खेल और दो विशेष वीडियो प्रस्तुत किए गए—पहले में विद्यार्थियों के हृदयस्पर्शी संदेश और दूसरे में शिक्षकों की कॉलेज स्मृतियाँ। क्विज़िटो – द क्विज़ सोसाइटी ने एक उत्साहजनक क्विज़ आयोजित किया। सबसे बहुप्रतीक्षित क्षण छात्र परिषद के सदस्यों का उत्साहपूर्ण नृत्य रहा।

अंत में छात्र परिषद की अध्यक्ष नैना धमीजा ने शिक्षकों और सभी सहयोगियों के प्रति आभार व्यक्त किया। इस प्रकार यह आयोजन स्मृतियों, सम्मान और आनंद का सुंदर संगम बनकर शिक्षकों को समर्पित हुआ।

We are proud to share that Dr. Arunima Das, Associate Professor, Department of English, has been awarded the Exceptional Educationist Award 2025 at “Abhinandan”, an event organized by the Rotary Club of New Delhi on 5th September 2025 to commemorate Teacher’s Day. The award ceremony took place at the IIC Annexe, New Delhi.

On 1st September, 2025, the District Disaster Management Authority (South Delhi) organized a Training and Awareness Programme on Disaster Management at Gargi College, University of Delhi.The event was designed to enhance community resilience by equipping participants with practical knowledge and skills for emergency response.

The programme's curriculum included demonstrations of various rescue techniques. Participants were also instructed on critical safety measures during an earthquake, which included protecting the head, crawling low and seeking shelter near structural supports while avoiding the use of elevators. Furthermore, the session provided hands-on training in first aid, covering bleeding control methods and the correct procedures for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).In fire emergencies, participants were advised to stay low to escape smoke inhalation, while flood preparedness highlighted the importance of improvising flotation devices using accessible materials such as bottles and basketballs.

The event concluded with a strong emphasis on the role of a well-informed and prepared community in mitigating disaster risks. District Disaster Management Authority, South Delhi, successfully fostered a greater sense of confidence, civic responsibility and proactive engagement among all participants.

1 सितंबर 2025 को डिस्ट्रिक्ट डिज़ास्टर मैनेजमेंट अथॉरिटी (दक्षिणी दिल्ली) द्वारा गार्गी कॉलेज, दिल्ली विश्वविद्यालय में आपदा प्रबंधन पर प्रशिक्षण और जागरूकता कार्यक्रम का आयोजन किया गया। इस कार्यक्रम का उद्देश्य प्रतिभागियों को आपातकालीन परिस्थितियों के लिए व्यावहारिक ज्ञान और कौशल प्रदान करके समुदाय की आपदा-प्रतिक्रिया क्षमता को मजबूत करना था।कार्यक्रम के अंतर्गत विभिन्न बचाव तकनीकों का प्रदर्शन किया गया। प्रतिभागियों को भूकंप के दौरान अपनाए जाने वाले महत्वपूर्ण सुरक्षा उपायों की जानकारी दी गई।

आग लगने की स्थिति में धुएं से बचने के लिए नीचे झुककर चलने की सलाह दी गई, वहीं बाढ़ जैसी आपात स्थितियों में प्रतिभागियों को पानी पर तैरने के लिए बोतलों और बास्केटबॉल जैसी उपलब्ध वस्तुओं का उपयोग करके फ्लोटेशन डिवाइस बनाने के बारे में बताया गया।कार्यक्रम का समापन समुदाय की जागरूकता और तत्परता की महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका पर जोर देते हुए किया गया।

In the IIS Rajdhani Judo Championship 2025-26, organized by the Delhi Judo Council (affiliated to the Judo Federation of India) from 25th to 28th August at Tyagraj Sports Complex, Delhi, our college Judo team delivered an outstanding performance by securing 3 Gold, 3 Silver, and 3 Bronze medals across different weight and age categories.

• Gold Medals: Ms. Kashish Dagar (B.A. Programme, 2nd Year, -78 kg), Ms. Mehak Tokas (Political Science Hons., 1st Year, -57 kg), and Ms. Tanvi Rawat (B.A. Programme, 1st Year, +78 kg).

On 30th August 2025, the Department of Education , Gargi College, organized a Skill Enhancement Session titled “ Google Certified Educator Level 1 and 2".

The session, led by Mr.Chandan Jha, State Awardee Teacher and Certified Google Educator offered students practical and ethical insights into using technology enabled Pedagogy to enhance teaching learning in Classroom. The interactive and handson format combined expert guidance with one-to-one interactions, addressing real-life challenges and demonstrating how technology can be leveraged to make learning meaningful for students besides skilling teachers with latest technological tools.

The event emphasized that Google suite tools can act as powerful tools for teachers and come handy in creating interactive,inquiry based classrooms ,conduct effective and meaningful assessment in real time by giving individual student personal feedback for improvement. The session offered practical hands on tasks which engaged the participants in a lively learning atmosphere.

27 अगस्त 2025 को गार्गी कॉलेज के वाणिज्य संघ ने “भविष्य के लिए तैयार कौशल: आपके अकादमिक लाभ हेतु AI का उपयोग” शीर्षक से एक कौशल संवर्धन सत्र का आयोजन किया।

यह सत्र टेक एथ्नोग्राफर और एआई गवर्नेंस आर्किटेक्ट श्री अफ़रोस रहमान द्वारा संचालित किया गया, जिसमें विद्यार्थियों को अध्ययन, शोध और उत्पादकता में एआई के व्यावहारिक और नैतिक उपयोग पर महत्वपूर्ण अंतर्दृष्टियाँ प्रदान की गईं। इंटरएक्टिव प्रारूप में विशेषज्ञ मार्गदर्शन के साथ-साथ व्यक्तिगत संवाद भी शामिल थे, जिनमें वास्तविक जीवन की चुनौतियों पर चर्चा की गई और यह दर्शाया गया कि किस प्रकार एआई रिज़्यूमे, प्रेज़ेंटेशन और शैक्षणिक परिणामों को बेहतर बनाने में सहायक हो सकता है।

कार्यक्रम ने इस बात पर बल दिया कि यद्यपि एआई एक सह-पायलट की तरह सहयोग कर सकता है, परंतु समालोचनात्मक सोच, तथ्य-जांच और नैतिक उपयोग की अंतिम ज़िम्मेदारी छात्रों पर ही रहती है। विचारोत्तेजक चर्चाओं और साझा अनुभवों ने सत्र को सार्थक और प्रभावशाली बना दिया, जिससे प्रतिभागियों को एआई को एक विश्वसनीय शैक्षणिक सहयोगी के रूप में अपनाने की प्रेरणा मिली।

गार्गी महाविद्यालय की राजभाषा कार्यान्वयन समिति ने 2 सितम्बर 2025 को हिंदी दिवस का शुभारंभ “हिंदी टिप्पण एवं सरकारी पत्राचार के प्रकार” विषय पर एक विशेष कार्यशाला के आयोजन के साथ किया। इस अवसर पर मुख्य अतिथि एवं मुख्य वक्ता श्री श्याम सुंदर कथूरिया, निदेशक (राजभाषा), कर्मचारी राज्य बीमा निगम, उपस्थित रहे।

कार्यक्रम की औपचारिक शुरुआत महाविद्यालय की प्राचार्या प्रो. संगीता भाटिया द्वारा मुख्य अतिथि का स्वागत पौधा भेंट कर किया गया। समिति की ओर से प्राचार्या महोदया को भी पौधा भेंटकर सम्मानित किया गया। अपने संबोधन में प्राचार्या महोदया ने समिति के सभी सदस्यों के निष्ठापूर्ण योगदान की सराहना की, उनके परिश्रम एवं समर्पण को सम्मानित किया और आगे भी इसी उत्साह से कार्य करते रहने के लिए प्रेरित किया। उन्होंने श्री जितेंद्र यादव को हिंदी में 100 प्रतिशत कार्य निष्पादन के लिए प्रोत्साहन पुरस्कार भी प्रदान किया।

इसके उपरांत मुख्य वक्ता श्री कथूरिया जी ने सरकारी पत्राचार की बारीकियों पर विस्तार से प्रकाश डाला। उन्होंने हिंदी टिप्पण, नोटिंग और पत्राचार के विविध रूपों को अत्यंत सहज और व्यावहारिक उदाहरणों के माध्यम से स्पष्ट किया। उनका वक्तव्य न केवल जानकारीपूर्ण रहा बल्कि प्रतिभागियों को हिंदी में प्रभावी और सुसंगत प्रशासनिक लेखन हेतु व्यावहारिक दिशा-निर्देश भी प्रदान करता है।

समिति के सतत प्रयासों का ही परिणाम है कि गार्गी महाविद्यालय का नाम भारत सरकार के राजपत्र में उन संस्थाओं की सूची में शामिल हुआ है जहाँ 80 प्रतिशत से अधिक कर्मचारियों ने हिंदी में कार्यसाधक ज्ञान अर्जित किया है।

कार्यक्रम का संचालन समिति की नोडल अधिकारी डॉ. स्वेता मिश्रा द्वारा कुशलतापूर्वक किया गया।

The event was a huge success, attracting enthusiastic participation from students across the college.
Attendees engaged in thoughtful discussions about the importance of Psychological Capital in enhancing well-being and creating positive community living.

माइंड लैब, मनोविज्ञान विभाग, गर्गी कॉलेज, दिल्ली विश्वविद्यालय ने हाल ही में एक प्रेरणादायक व्याख्यान का आयोजन किया —
‘PsyCap: The New Currency of Happiness’, जिसे रेखी फ़ाउंडेशन फ़ॉर हैप्पीनेस से आदरणीय डॉ. ए. श्री हरि कृष्णा ने शनिवार, 30 अगस्त 2025 को प्रस्तुत किया।

यह कार्यक्रम बेहद सफल रहा और पूरे कॉलेज से विद्यार्थियों ने उत्साहपूर्वक भाग लिया।
प्रतिभागियों ने मनोवैज्ञानिक पूंजी (Psychological Capital) के महत्व पर सार्थक चर्चा की — कि कैसे यह हमारे सुख-समृद्धि को बढ़ाने और सकारात्मक सामुदायिक जीवन बनाने में मदद करता है।

हम उन सभी का आभार व्यक्त करते हैं जिन्होंने इसमें भाग लेकर वातावरण को जीवंत बनाया।

The Department of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, Gargi College, organized a One Day Seminar on the occasion of National Sports Day on 28th August 2025. The theme of the seminar was “Traditional Sports in India”, highlighting the importance of indigenous games and their relevance in today’s fitness-oriented lifestyle. The Chief Guest of the day was Mr. Bhanu Sachdeva, an Arjuna Awardee and International Swimmer, who inspired the gathering with his words of motivation. The event also featured Dr. Gaurav Kumar, Assistant Professor, Hansraj College, as Guest of honour. The programme commenced with the traditional lamp lighting ceremony, symbolizing knowledge and wisdom, followed by two enriching sessions by the distinguished guests. Prof. Sangeeta Bhatia, Principal, graced the occasion along with faculty members and members of the Sports Committee. The seminar witnessed the enthusiastic participation of 140 students, who actively engaged in the discussions. All participants were provided with E-certificates and refreshments as a token of appreciation. In their addresses, the esteemed guests laid special emphasis on the preservation and promotion of traditional sports in India and their role in shaping cultural identity. They concluded with the inspirational message “Khilega aur Khelega Bharat”, encouraging the youth to embrace and revive the legacy of indigenous games.

गार्गी कॉलेज के शारीरिक शिक्षा और खेल विज्ञान विभाग ने 28 अगस्त 2025 को राष्ट्रीय खेल दिवस पर “भारत में पारंपरिक खेल” विषय पर एक दिवसीय सेमिनार आयोजित किया। मुख्य अतिथि अर्जुन पुरस्कार विजेता एवं अंतर्राष्ट्रीय तैराक श्री भानु सचदेवा थे, जिन्होंने प्रेरक संबोधन दिया। हंसराज कॉलेज के सहायक प्रोफेसर डॉ. गौरव कुमार ने विशेषज्ञ वक्ता के रूप में भाग लिया। कार्यक्रम का शुभारंभ दीप प्रज्वलन से हुआ और अतिथियों द्वारा दो ज्ञानवर्धक सत्र प्रस्तुत किए गए। प्रो. संगीता भाटिया, प्रिंसिपल, ने संकाय और खेल समिति के साथ कार्यक्रम की शोभा बढ़ाई। कुल 140 विद्यार्थियों ने उत्साहपूर्वक भाग लिया। प्रतिभागियों को ई-प्रमाण पत्र और जलपान प्रदान किया गया। अतिथियों ने पारंपरिक खेलों के संरक्षण और “खिलेगा और खेलेगा भारत” संदेश पर बल दिया।

The session, led by Mr. Afros Rahman, Tech Ethnographer and AI Governance Architect, offered students practical and ethical insights into using AI for study, research, and productivity. The interactive format combined expert guidance with one-to-one interactions, addressing real-life challenges and demonstrating how AI can enhance resumes, presentations, and overall academic outcomes.

The event emphasized that while AI can serve as a powerful co-pilot, the responsibility of critical thinking, fact-checking, and ethical use rests with students themselves. The engaging discussions and shared experiences made the session both insightful and impactful, encouraging participants to adopt AI responsibly as a reliable academic companion.

26 अगस्त 2025 को प्राणीशास्त्र विभाग द्वारा बीएससी जीवन विज्ञान (तृतीय वर्ष) के विद्यार्थियों के लिए विषय-विशेष ‘विकासवादी पारिस्थितिकी’ के अंतर्गत अरावली जैव विविधता पार्क की एक शैक्षिक यात्रा का आयोजन किया गया। डॉ. एम. दिव्या ज्ञानेश्वरी और डॉ. चैताली घोष की देखरेख में यह यात्रा सफल रही।

जैव विविधता पार्क का भ्रमण काफी विचारोत्तेजक और प्रकृति तथा पारिस्थितिकी तंत्र के बारे में नई सीखों से भरपूर रहा।

छात्रों को प्रकृति के साथ उसके मूल स्वरूप में बातचीत करने और विभिन्न जैविक प्रजातियों के महत्व, मूल्यों और निहितार्थों को समझने का अवसर मिला।

An educational trip to Aravalli Biodiversity park was organised by Department of Zoology for students of bsc life science (3rd year) on 26th August 2025 under Discipline Specific Core ‘Evolutionary ecology’ under the supervision of Dr.M.Divya Gnaneswari and Dr.Chaitali Ghosh.

The excursion to Biodiversity park was quite thought provoking and full of new learnings about nature and ecosystem .
Students get a chance to interact with nature in it’s native form and explore the importance ,values and implications of various biological species.
