Idle Hands: Shot in 48 Hours. Fueled by nerves, Night Mode, and two very overworked lights.

We just wrapped our horror short after two chaotic nights of filming in the shadowy woods of Wixom, Michigan.
No trailers. No big crews. Just one Aputure light, an RGB wand, and a whole lot of ambition.

Things we survived:
Creepy woods after midnight
The ever-present threat of rain
A swarm of bloodthirsty insects auditioning for lead roles
Turning my everyday car into a haunted set on wheels (she’s still recovering)
Shooting an entire film in two days with a skeleton crew and zero chill

Huge thanks to everyone who came out, lit the scene (and themselves), and made Idle Hands something twisted and beautiful.

Wixom may never recover. Neither will our sleep schedules.

Project Update: The Door (Working Title)

Hello everyone,

We want to update you on the progress of our previous film, The Door—currently a working title. While we plan to finalize the title once the edits are complete, we're excited to share that we're back on track after encountering some challenges with foley and sound.

Scream City Studios is casting for “Idle Hands,” a suspenseful short horror film about two friends trapped in their car on a desolate forest road, pursued by an unseen force. This is a character-driven story with an emphasis on emotional tension and escalating fear.

Details:

Non-Paid
Filming Location: Around the Royal Oak area
Filming Date: To be determined

Roles:

Driver (Female): 20s-30s. Practical, anxious, and increasingly terrified as events unfold. Physicality and subtle expressions are key. Actors for this role should contact us to receive sides for their audition.

Passenger (Male): 20s-40s. Sarcastic and skeptical, masking fear with humor until the tension becomes unbearable. Actors for this role should contact us to receive a specific improvised scenario for their audition.

Additional Information:
This is a contained horror short set entirely inside a car. Actors should be comfortable with subtle, nuanced performances and tension-driven scenes.

About the Project
Forever Guests is a gripping short horror film about two staff members, Ella and Ryan, cleaning up a wedding venue late at night. A mysterious table appears, followed by ominous guests who silently take their places. As Ella and Ryan’s reality begins to unravel, they must confront escalating supernatural terror and their own growing desperation.

We’re seeking actors who can bring raw emotion, vulnerability, and escalating tension to this intense, character-driven story.

Character Descriptions
Ella
Age: Late 20s
Personality: Practical and no-nonsense, Ella dreams of starting her own event-planning business but is burnt out from long shifts. Her logical demeanor crumbles as terror escalates.

Ryan
Age: Early 30s
Personality: Optimistic and sentimental, Ryan sees weddings as hopeful celebrations. His humor falters as he becomes overwhelmed by the supernatural events.
