Six in 10 Americans have at least one chronic disease, and 4 in 10 have two or more chronic diseases. Many preventable chronic diseases are caused by a short list of risk behaviors: smoking, poor nutrition, physical inactivity, and excessive alcohol use. Lifestyle modifications are habits that are within a person’s control. One of the ways to prevent chronic disease caused by familial factors like type 2 diabetes, heart disease, and hypertension is through lifestyle modifications. Lifestyle modifications that can reduce your risk of chronic disease are healthy eating, regular physical activity, avoiding to***co and excessive alcohol consumption, and managing stress.

Disease prevention is critical now more than ever! Healthcare is changing. We must be vigilant about our physical health and our mental health. 💚❤️

December is all about loving yourself and being present in the moment. Sometimes in order to do this we have to go back in the past,...back to the beginning. But don't get stuck there! Reflection is ok however regret is a robber of the future. Learn to appreciate where you started. Feel the pain of past mistakes and poor decisions; learn from them and then LET IT GO!
