It is my opinion (and is evidentiary) that one of the most toxic aspects of the seeker sensitive movement, besides mixing in artificial sweetener with the gospel message, was the significant damage done to male discipleship.

In order to please the world, churches adopted a framework that comes from the world. As a result, something that now transcends various cultures are men who dont know exactly what they're supposed to be in the Lord and women who have no respect for them. A healthy, godly society requires healthy, godly men. The american, modern church stopped believing that.

There is something that Paul addresses in his letter to Timothy that ought to give us pause: that some will "hold to a form of godliness, yet deny it's power" (2 Tim 3)

Seeking help for p**n addiction is truly a great thing. Everyone who is fighting that struggle ought to do that.

But I want you to know what your real problem is. It is a problem we all suffer from - you have a hunger for dead things that don't promote life. We are told in scripture that "we are dead in our trespasses and sins." P**n addiction is an outworking of that reality.

GOOD NEWS. - Jesus came to bring life. That you would know him and have a true abundant life. Do you fall prey to the growing "destigmatization culture". Confessing p**n addiction or any other addiction, for that matter, doesn't set you free.

Confessing Jesus as Lord, ruler, and the only way to your spiritual rebirth, forgiveness, and eternal righteousness will set you free.

He died because we, who are dead men and women, deserve eternal death. We carry out the deeds of this spiritual dead-ness on a daily basis. His death cleansed us of this record, if you trust that He indeed died for you.

He was raised to life, giving evidence that He is who he said he is - the sacrifice for all who trust in Him. Also, He is the representative of many who will now be raised to life after death as a result of being children of God.

Going through your process to end p**n addiction is good. It is. However, trusting Jesus will bring you to realize that He has not only destroyed addiction but he destroyed the very death that it seeks to bring out of it.
