Another horrific accident claimed eight life on the N1 road outside Musina.

The accident happened on Saturday morning next to Baobab Tollgate.

Limpopo traffic department says it is alleged that a minibus driver was trying to overtake another vehicle when collided head on with a loading van.

The department says eight people died on the scene.

The police in Limpopo are investigating the death of two medical doctors who were found dead on their apartment in Polokwane on Monday.

It is alleged that the duo who are husband and wife aged thirty two and thirty five had a quarrel earlier on the day.

Police suspects that the husband shot and killed his wife before turning the gun to himself.

The two were attached to Donald Fraser and Pietersburg Provincial Hospital respectively.

Health services temporarily suspended at Tshiombo clinic outside Tshilamba, in Mutale.

This follows the fire that started at an old building on Saturday.

Limpopo provincial health spokesperson Neil Shikwambana says the cause of the fire is not yet established, and community members are being advised to use nearby clinics.

Shikwamabana says no injuries or fatalities were reported.

South African National Defence Force member has been arrested for allegedly aiding six suspects to flee under police guard in Louis Trichardt.

Police were transporting six awaiting trial prisoners from Louis Trichardt to Vivo, when they were ambushed by two cars and immediately shot at before they could free the prisoners on Monday.

Six suspects were freed and flee with a private car and a bakkie.

The prisoners, all from Zimbabwe were arrested for various suspected crimes including aggraviated robberies; attempted murder; and being in possession of unlicensed fi****ms.

SANDF member was arrested together with a civilian in Musina.

Six awaiting trialists have escaped under police guard when they were transported between Vivo and Makhado on Monday.

It is alleged that heavly armed suspects interrupted the transportation of the six by shooting at police van until they managed to free the awaiting trialists.

Police says the suspects together with the awaiting trialists sped off in a grey Mercedes Benz and a white Toyota Bakkie.

All awaiting trialists are Zimbabwean national aged between twenty six and thirty five.

Limpopo Hawks police have discovered and seized illicit ci******es at the value of thirty million rand at an undisclosed farm in Musina on Saturday.

Police acted on tipoff and activated an operation that include Limpopo South African Police Service; South Africa National Defence Force; and South African Revenue Srrvices.

Limpopo Hawks spokesperson Matimba Maluleke says on their arrival to the ssid farm, they found a truck and a tractor with trailer loaded with suspected illicit ci******es that were covered with brick pallets.

Maluleke says they also discovered a bakkie and another truck in the vicinity that were also fully loaded with suspected illicit ci******es.

After a long night trying to safeguard exhibit, five suspects aged between 26 and 44 were arrested for contravening the Customs and Excise Act and are expected to appear in the Musina Magistrate's court on Monday.

Four fishers who were stranded at a small island at Limpopo river outside Masisi have been rescued.

SAPS K9 unit, Water and Air Wing Units rescued two females and two males next to Rangani village outside Masisi on Monday

Provincial police spokesperson Motlafela Mojapelo says it is allegedly reported that they were fishing in the river when they were swept away by the water to the island between Nwanedi and Limpopo rivers where they stayed there for five days.

They were identified as Emely Mutavhatsindi (40) from Malale village, Ndoweni Munyai (47), Kedibone Funanani (53), and Booi Munyai (54) all from Madimbo village.

They have been taken to local clinic for medical treatment.

Limpopo community safety MEC Fulufhelo Radzilani condemned the torching of fifteen houses at Gumbu Village outside Musina on Saturday.

The spate of violence is related to the killing of the local headman, Takalani Gumbu earlier this week.

Gumbu was shot and killed in front of his palace.

Radzilani has called for calm and appealed with the residents to desist from acts of violence.

Police members have been drployed in the village and it is not clear if they made any arrest at this stage.

This comes as the villagers are concerned about the death of their traditional leader who was shot dead once arrived at his palace this week.

It is alleged that police vehicle have been also gutted down.

It is not yet clear if police made arrest concerning the death of a headman or even on the asorn case.

One of the victims of N1 bus accident where twenty two people perished on Monday was buried at Tshirolwe Ext 2 on Saturday.

Rosemary Nevhudogwa was one of the Mabirimisa bus company passenger that was involed on the N1 accident on her way from Louis Trichardt to Nzhelele, when it collided with cash in transit van and plunged into the Phandanama river.

Makhado Municipality mayor Samuel Munyai was among the mourners, as other municipal councillors were deployed to attend other funerals of accident victims in various parts around Dzanani.

Munyai conveyed a message of condolences to the bereaved families.

A thirty five year old man have been arrested at Rabali village outside Louis Trichardt with two suspected stolen fi****ms on Friday.

Tne suspect is being charged for house robbery; possession of unlicensed fi****ms; and ammunition.

Police says they received a tip-off about suspects who committed house robbery in Musina last year December, and they were traced until one of them was positively linked to the incident and arrested in Nzhelele area.

Suspect was found in possession of two suspected stolen fi****ms.
