Enjoy the good moments when they come—life won’t always feel this light.
Some days you’re thriving; other days, you’re just trying to make it through. The truth is, we’re all carrying something. Some people push forward in silence. Others only share the highlights of their story, because they’ve learned the hard way—not everyone deserves access to their struggle. Sometimes, when people open up, they’re met with judgment instead of grace. And some, when their lowest moments are made visible, are even mocked or misunderstood—pulling them down further.
So be gentle—with yourself and with others. We’re all just doing the best we can. Life is unpredictable. No one stays on top forever, and no one stays at the bottom forever either.
That’s why, when joy finds you, let it in. Don’t wait for the perfect moment—those are rare. Even on the hardest days, there’s always something to hold on to: a flicker of light, a quiet strength, a simple lesson. That’s what keeps us moving forward.
Anyway, what do you think of this painting by Hubert Robert?
Ruins of a Roman Bath with Washerwomen (after 1766)
Robert’s blend of decay and daily life fascinates me. Even among ruins, there’s movement, purpose, and resilience. Just like life—we carry on, even when everything around us feels broken. The women washing clothes in the shadow of ancient stones remind us: even in the midst of what’s crumbling, life doesn’t stop. We keep showing up. We keep living.
