🚨 Teacher Suspended in Rajouri Over Alleged Misconduct, Intoxication in School
The Chief Education Officer (CEO) Rajouri has suspended a Grade-III teacher posted at Government Primary School Lanjhar in Zone Moughla with immediate effect over serious allegations of misconduct, indiscipline, and dereliction of duty.
As per an official order accessed by Kashmir News Corner , the action follows a report submitted by the Zonal Education Officer (ZEO) Moughla. The report stated that during an inspection on February 18, 2026, the teacher was allegedly found in an intoxicated state within the school premises during working hours, disrupting the academic environment.
The order further stated that the teacher had previously been served a show-cause notice over repeated absenteeism and alleged consumption of liquor during school hours. Despite the warning, authorities noted no satisfactory improvement in conduct.
Officials also received written complaints from staff members, parents, and local residents accusing the teacher of misbehavior, harassment of colleagues, negligence in teaching responsibilities, and conduct unbecoming of a government employee.
Describing the allegations as grave misconduct and a violation of the Jammu and Kashmir Government Employees Conduct Rules, 1971, the CEO Rajouri ordered the suspension under the Jammu and Kashmir Civil Services (Classification, Control and Appeal) Rules, 1956, pending a departmental inquiry.
During the suspension period, the teacher will remain attached to the office of the Zonal Education Officer, Khawas, and will receive subsistence allowance as per applicable service rules.
