📙 Throughout our books, you will find explanations for vocabulary that may be unfamiliar to the intended readers of this book. Explained words are marked with nikud (the Hebrew vowel system) and appear at the bottom of the relevant page and in the glossary at the back.

📙 With the goal of easing readers into more traditional Hebrew-written forms in a fun

way, the challenge level gradually increases throughout the book, giving readers a glimpse into proficient-level written form at the end.

📙 The book has also been illustrated and extensively polished, and its language has been updated to reflect today's political correctness.

The seven-day festival of Sukkot starts on the 15th of Tishrei.

In ancient times Sukkot was "The Holiday" and commemorates the 40 years the Jewish spent in the desert on their way to the promised land after escaping slavery in Egypt.

In modern times Sukkot is celebrated by building temporary dwellings from woods, canvas, or aluminum🪵 It is considered a Mitzvah to pray inside and it's common for families to eat, play and pray for the 7 days of the Holiday.

Often שנה טובה has long been the most common wish to convey to another person during the Jewish New Year. It is a Hebrew phrase that translates to “good year“. An extended version, “shana tova u'metuka“, means “a good and sweet year”
