Poulton Photographic Society Triumphs at Bob Robinson Trophy Competition
Poulton Photographic Society celebrated a major success on Saturday 15 November, winning First Place in the Lancashire and Cheshire Photographic Union’s prestigious Bob Robinson Trophy print competition. The event, designed for photographers without formal qualifications, brought together 17 clubs from across the region. Poulton secured victory with an impressive 140 points, with four of its images achieving the maximum score of 15.
Eleven members represented the club, and three photographers received individual awards for their outstanding work:
Gold Medal: Midnight Sentinel by Tim Garside
Selectors Ribbon: Guardian on the Rocks by Val Fillingham
Selectors Ribbon: Peeping by Val Fillingham
Selectors Ribbon: Egret with Eel by Paul West
Val Fillingham achieved two perfect scores of 15, while Tim Garside and Paul West also reached the top mark. Congratulations also to the rest of the team. Their combined high scores contributed to the club’s overall win.
“Winning the Bob Robinson Trophy is a proud moment for our society,” said Alan Cameron, the Chairman of the Society. “It highlights the talent and dedication of our members and the strength of community photography in Poulton.”
The society welcomes photographers of all levels and meets Thursdays at 7.30pm at Poulton Methodist Church Hall, Queensway, Poulton-le-Fylde, FY6 7ST.
