Silvia Venturini Fendi Leaves Creative Director Role at Fendi.

Starting October 1, Silvia Venturini Fendi will become honorary president of . After decades of shaping menswear, accessories and even stepping in for womenswear, she now takes the seat that is more about legacy than deadlines.

Silvia is the third generation of the Fendi family, worked side by side with Karl Lagerfeld for nearly three decades, and later teamed with Kim Jones. She calls these years “exhilarating” and admits her team feels like family. Which, let’s be honest, in fashion is rare.

Her new mission: carry forward the Fendi heritage, push the brand globally and keep the Roman Maison’s craft alive. A new creative structure is still under wraps, but one thing is clear — Silvia remains the soul of the house.

Michael Kors Brings Calm to NYFW

Michael Kors delivered pure elegance at noon in New York, proving why he remains the master of American sportswear 44 years on.

For Spring/Summer 2026, Kors staged his show inside a restored redbrick warehouse near the Hudson River. The collection balanced sensuality and ease: open silk blouses with silver amulets, dhoti pants, ruched goddess gowns, and oversized tuxedo jackets. Practicality stayed key with thick-heeled sandals, soft calf leather bags, and playful tassel details.

The highlight? Adut Akech closing in a gilded trench — a golden finale that lit up the runway.

Star power was undeniable: Gwyneth Paltrow and Olivia Wilde in the front row, alongside Nicky Hilton and a wave of influencers. The soundtrack — a Sébastien Léger remix blending Paris Philharmonic with Marianne Faithfull — amplified the drama.

“I wanted everything to feel soft but still tailored. The world isn’t calm today, and we need calm,” said Kors after the show.

Christian Dior Appoints Michela Kalb to Lead Couture and RTW

Christian Dior, the renowned French luxury fashion house under the LVMH Group, is strengthening the teams of its Creative Director, Jonathan Anderson, by bringing Michela Kalb back to its ranks. The Sardinian-born Italian previously distinguished herself during a decade-long tenure at Dior in the mid-2000s, where she served as director of women’s ready-to-wear before holding the same role at Louis Vuitton.

She has now been appointed director of haute couture, women’s and men’s ready-to-wear, women’s shoes, and baby collections at Christian Dior. “In this capacity, she will join the management committee,” the company stated.

The ready-to-wear expert is set to take up her post on October 1, the same day Anderson’s debut women’s ready-to-wear collection will be unveiled at Paris Fashion Week. Kalb will become Anderson’s de facto right-hand woman, coordinating all aspects of the house’s collections, from creation to retail.

“I’m delighted that Michela and Dior’s paths are crossing again. I am convinced that she will draw on her vision and knowledge of the house, as well as her extensive product expertise, to develop ever more desirable collections in close collaboration with the creative direction,” said Christian Dior CEO Delphine Arnault in a note shared by the house.

In the French capital, she joined the LVMH Group, first at Christian Dior from 2006 to 2017, then at Louis Vuitton, where she continued her role as director of women’s ready-to-wear.

NYFW Opens with Ralph Lauren

New York Fashion Week began Wednesday evening with Ralph Lauren staging an understated yet elegant show inside his Madison Avenue HQ. The white modernist set framed a collection of taut silhouettes, sensual volumes, and flashes of red among black-and-white tailoring.

“I want to stay simple and let the clothes tell the story,” said Ralph, who later hosted guests at the Polo Bar.

Oprah Winfrey sat front row, praising the gowns and coats: “You wear red when you know you have won.” The night ended with Ralph taking a modest bow, embraced by his wife Ricky, as the crowd rose in ovation.

Elsewhere across Midtown, Miu Miu partnered with Coco Gauff, Dior unveiled its new flagship, Valentino launched beauty at Studio 54, and the CFDA toasted the season from Rockefeller Center.
