Exciting News! Tommy and Michelle Nichols with the Charlotte Black Film Festival, recently sat down with Queen City News to discuss the launch of the Micro Film Grant Program. This initiative supported by a grant from the city of Charlotte offers financial support ranging from $500 to $5,000 to empower African and Latino American filmmakers in Charlotte-Mecklenburg County

In their interview, Tommy and Michelle shared insights into how this grant aims to enhance local film production and expand the creative workforce in our community.

We are excited to announce an important update to the Charlotte Black Film Festival Micro Film Grant Program. In our ongoing commitment to support and uplift local talent, we have expanded the eligibility criteria to include all residents of Mecklenburg County.

To accommodate this expansion, we have extended the grant application deadline to February 23, 2025. We encourage all eligible filmmakers to take advantage of this opportunity and submit their applications by the new deadline. CBFF will be celebrating 15 years on June 5th to 8th, 2025 at Ayrsley Grand Cinema, 9110 Kings Parade Blvd, Charlotte, NC 28273. Tickets go on sale January 10, 2025
