In 2007 I went on tour across Australia and New Zealand for about 5 weeks, with most of that time in NZ, and Christchurch in particular. This was over Christmas time as well, which was different given that it was summer! I met so many amazing people and will always cherish those memories. Big up to all who hosted me, Chris Truman (Dose), Mark Prince (Menace) and Ollie CERN in particular. While there I made a couple tunes: “Quicksand” with Dose, Teknik and Menace, and “Line Of Sight” with Bulletproof and Dose.
This month is the 15 year anniversary of the release of Bulletproof’s amazing album “Dark Times Desperate Measures” which featured “Line Of Sight” as well as various other collabs between Bulletproof and artists like Gridlok, Mindscape, Phace, Teknik, Tiki Taane, and MC Dino. Well worth a listen!
Sadly, Jay Bulletproof passed away last year. He was one of my favorite artists going back to the early days when I discovered DNB and was purchasing vinyl on a weekly basis. So many amazing pieces of music have come out of his studio. It was an honor to work with him and I even have the sessions for a brand new track that we started last year before his passing. I will definitely finish this eventually once I have the time to do it justice. I also owe him a spotlight on my Twitch channel which I hope to do soon as well.
