What's next for AI?
Rumors of another cycle of AI winter are upon us, which calls for a shift in our approach to understanding intelligence. What could be a new way of navigating, or preparing for the next cycle? How might we mitigate an impending decline in funding, interest, and excitement for AI?
Scientists are recognizing that a small, but rapidly growing field called Artificial Life (Alife) offers several promising pathways to the current limitations of AI development. LLMs are currently based on language that runs out of data, and concepts within Alife could be an expansive approach to preparing for the AI winter and beyond.
Join us on Friday, Sept. 12th, 2025 for a thought-provoking and in-depth discussion on how Alife could revolutionize our understanding of AI and its growing deep roots in Japan.
