Lessons Learned From My Godly Dad
1. Spend time with Jesus, serving, family devotions, and in corporate worship.
2. Prayer is essential. Spend time with the Lord in prayer and devotion. Seek God’s face, pray without ceasing (1 Thessalonians 5:17), and give thanks in everything (1 Thessalonians 5:18).
3. Confess sins before God. (1 John 1:9) Serve God and His people with zeal (Romans 12:11).
4. Witness to others about Jesus. Matthew 28:19-20 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, [20] teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, to the close of the age.
5. Tithing. We tithed our time, talents, and money. My parents taught us to live within our means, save, tithe, and spend wisely. Leviticus 27:30
6. Unity in marriage. Based on the Word of God, my parents stood on one accord in everything.
7. My father and mother disciplined his children. Proverbs 13:24 "Whoever spares the rod hates their children, but the one who loves their children is careful to discipline them".
8. Train up a child in the way he should go Proverbs 22:6
