The Australian Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) and the US National Oceanic and Atmosphere Administration (NOAA) have issued a geomagnetic storm alert, which has the potential to impact high-frequency radio infrastructure and GPS.
Although the possibility is low - some areas of Queensland may catch a glimpse of aurorae tonight when looking south.

Police are investigating a building fire at Emerald this morning where four bodies were found.
A spokesperson said emergency services were called around 6.48am to reports the Opal St property at Emerald was on fire.
A crime scene has been declared and investigations are ongoing.
