A woman who was fired after making a Facebook post about the death of conservative activist Charlie Kirk will receive $225,000 to settle a lawsuit that accused her former employer of violating her free-speech rights.

HUGE: Under Governor Kathy Hochul’s budget agreement, New York is establishing a state right to sue federal, state, and local officials—including ICE agents—for constitutional violations.

Since Trump took office, Americans have witnessed ICE agents killing Americans in cold blood, harassing and assaulting peaceful protesters, and brazenly violating basic constitutional rights.

With this legislation, New York residents will now be able to sue ICE agents to hold them accountable when they violate the Constitution.
