This week, Judas Iscariot will betray Jesus for Thirty pieces of Silver.

For nearly 2000 years, we have celebrated this manifestation of human weakness engraved in theological teachings: if Son of God can be betrayed for silver, who are you?

To that end, I don't know of another human in the world that has been betrayed in modern times like the son of Kifefe.

And yet Kizza Besigye remains with a pure heart, undeterred and fully focused on a noble mission to liberate Uganda.

Besigye's smile is from his heart. I see it. I know it.

I have not got anything from Besigye but I have learnt invaluable lessons from him: the goodness of his heart; faithfulness to his beliefs and sincerity of his deeds.

Besigye isn't Holy for he is human, but he is the man of the Holy Week; a man on a mission God has instructed him to fulfill.

Victory awaits him and those loyal to the cause.

*Inside FDC leadership retreat, new plan for 2026*

The Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) party has renewed its drive in preparation for the 2026 general elections.

The party just recently closed a three days National Executive Committee (NEC) leadership retreat at the Country Lake Resort in Garuga, Wakiso District.

Speaking during the closing ceremony, the party president Patrick Oboi Amuriat urged members to be strongholds in building a resilient and proactive party that will handle state power and country leadership.

The party sought to refresh NEC members and those in "hibernation" on conflict management and resolution within the party.

Structure: Reflection and analysis of the party's current political situation and climate and aligning it with the National Council resolution and synergies to make them a formidable contender in 2026.

Equiping: Enhancement of the NEC members in their capacities to discharge their constitutional responsibilities.

Improved work environment: Training of NEC members on gender mainstreaming in the party leadership, balancing party work and personal responsibilities, leadership ethics, personal conduct, and communication skills.

Going digital: They addressed social media in effective communication

Party resources: Aggressive and effective mobilisation strategy, financial mobilisation and fundraising plans, among other issues.

The NEC retreat has also recommended various strategic interventions to strengthen the Party, make it a Party of Choice and be able to take over leadership of the country.

The retreat comes on the backdrop of the National Council meeting where the party launched its third five-year (2022-2027) FDC strategic plan.

The document outlines the guiding principles that the party will be using going forward.

The annual observance of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPD) on 3 December was proclaimed in 1992 by the United Nations General Assembly resolution 47/3.

Parallel to the national celebrations organized in Kole District, the *FDC* Persons with Disability (PWDs) League with the support of the party commemorated this historic day in style under the theme: *Leadership and Mindset change; A Tool for Inclusive Development*

The observance of the Day aims to promote an understanding of disability issues and mobilize support for the dignity, rights and well-being of persons with disabilities.

The 2022 global observance to commemorate the International Day of Persons with Disabilities has been around the overarching theme of innovation and transformative solutions for inclusive development, covered in three different interactive dialogues. The thematic areas are: Innovation for disability inclusive development in employment (SDG8), Innovation for disability inclusive development in reducing inequality (SDG10) and Innovation for disability inclusive development in sports.

Accruing from the dialogue, government must prioritize
Investment in education for PWDs, recognize an urgent need for a
Quota system in employment for PWDs in both private and public institutions, reinvent the Implementation of laws on accessibility and improve access to credit for PWDs.

Special thanks to our guest of honor Ms Victo Nalule - the ED Tunaweza Foundation who articulated the key note address, the party Vice Chairman Western Uganda -Hon Kaginda Roland, the Deputy SG -Harold Kaija, the Deputy National Mobilizer Western Uganda- Counsel Tugume Moses, Women's League Representative Ms Paga Gloria, Secretary for Environment Hon.
