Spotted lanternfly is everywhere in my neighborhood in Rhode Island right now, including my Concord grape vine! This exotic pest loves ailanthus trees the most, but it also loves grape vines. I've been squishing them. The latest news is that milkweed is toxic to SLF. We have those in our backyard too - here's a pic of a SLF taunting me from a milkweed. Maybe it will be its last meal.

I greatly enjoyed the Rhode Island Tree Council annual meeting this past Saturday at the Clouds Hill Museum in Warwick, RI. They have a great tree collection at this historic house, including this amazing Camperdown elm.
