A green flag is when customers claim to be easy to work with. They say, "I'm easy, man. It's easy to work with me. I'm cool. I'm good." But words are just words. Show me, don't tell me. We actually prefer it when someone says, "I'm picky." It gives a clear direction on what they want. When you're in their home, ask them what looks good and what looks bad. If they agree with you, great! That's within their budget. But if they start pointing out every little flaw, like divots, nail pops, or waves, then we need to discuss a higher level of workmanship. It's important to have open communication about expectations and costs. If they're not willing to pay for the quality they desire, it becomes our responsibility as the general contractor to help them see their blind spot. Otherwise, it will become our problem.
