Lucy Dacus has treated fans to two surprise new songs – listen to ‘Bus Back To Richmond’ and ‘More Than Friends’ below.

The singer-songwriter released her fourth studio album ‘Forever Is A Feeling’ in March this year, which included singles such as ‘Best Guess’, ‘Ankles’ and the Hozier-featuring ‘Bullseye’.

Now, she has released two more non-album tracks from the same recording sessions, in the form of ‘Bus Back To Richmond’ and ‘More Than Friends’. They will be available on limited edition 7” vinyl and you can order yours here.

‘Bus Back To Richmond’ is a contemplative, lyrical reflection of a New Year’s Eve gone wrong, while ‘More Than Friends’ recounts fleeting moments from a personal relationship, both based around tender, acoustic arrangements.

Listen to the tracks here:

Dacus has also officially updated the album art for ‘Forever Is A Feeling’ to a Will St. John painting photographed in medium format by Jon Henry. She wrote on Instagram that this was “my original idea” for the cover. “I’m changing the album art to this because…I want to and I can!” she wrote.

The Boygenius singer is also currently on the road as part of her ‘Forever Is A Feeling’ tour of North America. At the shows, she is using her ordained status to officially marry volunteer couples from the crowd – find out more here.

She also joined The Killers at Osheaga Festival in Montreal earlier this month for a rendition of ‘Read My Mind’.

In a four-star review of ‘Forever Is A Feeling’, NME wrote: “Though it exudes plenty of joy along the way, ‘Forever Is A Feeling’ doesn’t shy away from the more daunting aspects of being totally obsessed with somebody; “This is bliss, this is hell,” Dacus sings on the title track. “Forever is a feeling, and I know it well.” Though longing and mortality have long been recurring themes in Dacus’ music, the stakes feel even higher – and even more gripping – when there’s so much to lose.”

It was later named as one of NME’s best albums of 2025 so far.

Sharon Osbourne has refuted the “ridiculous” claim that the farewell Black Sabbath concert raised $190million for charity.

The star-studded ‘Back To The Beginning’ show went down at Villa Park in Birmingham on July 5, an event that took on extra poignancy when Ozzy Osbourne passed away less than three months later (July 22).

In the days following the show, its musical director, the Rage Against The Machine legend Tom Morello, announced on Instagram that it had raised “more than $190million”, which would be split equally between Cure Parkinson’s, Birmingham Children’s Hospital and Acorn Children’s Hospice.

In a new interview with Pollstar, which was conducted a few days before Ozzy’s death, Sharon Osbourne has distanced herself from the reported numbers.

“I’m really happy that we are talking, because one of the things that’s frightening me is all this false press about [how] we’ve made $140 million and all of this, and I’m like, ‘God, I wish we could have, for one gig,’” she said.

“It’s just ridiculous, the different stories. I went on the internet the next morning and it was like, $140 million, $160 million. And I’m like, ‘Where does this stuff come from?’ And people like Billboard have printed it.”

When it was pointed out to her that the reported number was actually $190 million, she replied: “Oh, $190 million? Thank you, Billboard, for getting it wrong. Just ridiculous. It takes a really long time [to calculate], because we’ve had all of the bands that we had come in and their expenses, and it’ll take a good six weeks to get the final number. Because we’re selling merch for another two weeks from the gig. So, we’ve got another two weeks of sales yet to add to it. It’ll be another four weeks and it’ll be done.”

In the same interview, Sharon revealed that Ozzy told her he was overwhelmed by the outpouring of love at the farewell show. “He turned around and he said to me that night, ‘I had no idea that so many people liked me’. Ozzy’s always been in his own bubble,” she said.

“For Ozzy to play with Bill [Ward] again, he was very, very emotional about that. It was a huge success, because it was a phenomenal event. It was the first time, I think, that anybody’s gone into retirement and done it, where the show is streamed and it goes to charity. So it’s the first time anybody has said goodnight like that, it’s the perfect way, when you’ve had such a long career, to end it.”

It was the first time that the full classic lineup of Sabbath – Osbourne, guitarist Tony Iommi, bassist Geezer Butler and drummer Bill Ward – had played together since 2005. They played a streamlined four-song set of their classic songs, with Ozzy telling the live crowd: “It’s the last song ever. Your support has enabled us to live an amazing lifestyle, thank you from the bottom of our hearts.”

It has now been announced that a documentary about Osbourne is also on the way, which will share an “intimate glimpse” of his “last chapter”. Titled Ozzy Osbourne: Coming Home, it will feature contributions from his family and was filmed across his final three years. It will air on BBC One and iPlayer on August 18.

A biopic of Ozzy and Sharon’s lives is also in the works at Sony Pictures, with negotiations with a director ongoing. The project was first announced in 2021.

James Cameron has revealed he is worried that AI could lead to a real-life version of his film The Terminator.

The Avatar and Titanic director went on the record earlier this year that he is exploring ways in which AI technology could help brings costs down in the film industry, but as stated in a new interview, he remains wary of the possible future that it could bring about.

The Terminator, released in 1984, was Cameron’s major breakthrough film and told the story of Skynet, a military defence AI created to control the US nuclear arsenal. In the film’s backstory, Skynet becomes self-aware, views humanity as a threat, and launches a nuclear war, later sending machines like the Terminator back in time to secure its victory.

Speaking to Rolling Stone, Cameron said: “I do think there’s still a danger of a Terminator-style apocalypse where you put AI together with weapons systems, even up to the level of nuclear weapon systems, nuclear defence counterstrike, all that stuff.”

“Because the theatre of operations is so rapid, the decision windows are so fast, it would take a super-intelligence to be able to process it, and maybe we’ll be smart and keep a human in the loop. But humans are fallible, and there have been a lot of mistakes made that have put us right on the brink of international incidents that could have led to nuclear war. So I don’t know.”

He added: “I feel like we’re at this cusp in human development where you’ve got the three existential threats: climate and our overall degradation of the natural world, nuclear weapons, and super-intelligence. They’re all sort of manifesting and peaking at the same time. Maybe the super-intelligence is the answer. I don’t know. I’m not predicting that, but it might be.”

Last September, Cameron joined the board of directors for Stability AI. “My goal was not necessarily make a s**t pile of money,” he said at the time. “The goal was to understand the space, to understand what’s on the minds of the developers. What are they targeting? What’s their development cycle? How much resources you have to throw at it to create a new model that does a purpose-built thing, and my goal was to try to integrate it into a VFX workflow.”

Avatar: Fire And Ash, the third entry in the fantasy saga, is set for release on December 19. Cameron has confirmed it will be the longest in the franchise so far, although the first trailer last month left many fans underwhelmed.

The director is also working on a collaboration with Billie Eilish, who has said it will be “something very, very special”. The first hints came during a show at Manchester’s Co-op Live Arena last month, where there were 3D cameras around the venue.

Cameron also made headlines this summer when he criticised Christopher Nolan’s film Oppenheimer. He called it a “moral cop out” and “dodged the subject” of the history of the Hiroshima bomb.

Gorillaz are celebrating their 25th anniversary as a band by launching ‘House of Kong’ – a new exhibition showing at London’s Copper Box. Take a peek at what is on offer below.

READ MORE: Gorillaz – ‘Cracker Island’ review: conventional, but richly satisfying

The exhibition opened today (August 8), and will be available for a limited time, closing on September 3.

Held at London’s Copper Box, the gallery offers fans a look behind the curtain of the virtual band’s headquarters, and offers insight into the journey they have had since sharing their 2000 debut single ‘Tomorrow Comes Today’, up until now.

Gorillaz are helmed by Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett, and made up of bassist Murdoc Niccals, singer 2D, drummer Russel Hobbs and guitarist Noodle. The new exhibition is made in collaboration with Albarn, Hewlett and Eleven Management, and was developed by artist and creative director Stephen Gallagher and his studio, SWEAR.

“House of Kong is not a retrospective, it’s an audio-visual artwork; an installation that takes a glance backwards in order to identify the path ahead,” Gallagher said. “It’s an honour to have been part of the Gorillaz family over the last eight years.

“The outpouring of music and art that I have found myself immersed in, has changed my life. Maybe The House of Kong will change yours? This is no ordinary exhibition because in the world of Gorillaz, nothing is ever quite as it seems…”

For the most part, what the gallery consists of remains a surprise for those who visit, although some teasers have been shared online. These show various pieces of artwork and posters from across the band’s time together, as well as sculptures and behind-the-scenes clips of the recording process.

Exclusive merch is also on offer, and you can visit here for tickets and more information.

Alongside news of the exhibition, Gorillaz have announced four special live shows at the Copper Box Arena, taking place across this month and the beginning of September.

The gigs will see Albarn joined on stage by the full Gorillaz live band and backed by visuals by Hewlett. They’ll also see the band revisit iconic live shows from their early days, performing each record in full, in a limited-capacity setting.

Gorillaz’s live shows at Copper Box are:

AUGUST

29 – ‘Gorillaz’ (self-titled debut)

30 – ‘Demon Days’

SEPTEMBER

02 – ‘Plastic Beach’

03 – Mystery Show

This year has also seen Albarn tease a new Gorillaz album, and suggest it will be arriving later in 2025. “I’m finishing a new Gorillaz album. One opera and one new Gorillaz album seems like enough for 2025,” he told French magazine Les Inrockuptibles. “Unless someone accuses me of taking my foot off the gas!”

Hewlett then added fuel to the fire, writing in an Instagram comment: “Yes, the new album is coming out this year.”

Last month, Albarn then revealed that he’s been “incredibly busy making music” – and said the “new Gorillaz record is in four languages”.

Gorillaz’s last album, 2023’s ‘Cracker Island’, was given a four-star review by NME and described as “a consistently enjoyable record that shows why they remain relevant so far into their career.”

“A band that was once considered mucking about on the periphery of pop are now very much defining the present and inspiring the future. You could be doing much worse for album eight, eh?” it read.

Kneecap’s manager has claimed that Sony told the group to “stop speaking about Palestine”.

READ MORE: ‘Kneecap’ review: ballsy, brave and one of the best music biopics ever made

The manager, Daniel Lambert, opened up about the alleged comments in a new interview with the Belfast Telegraph, and said that they came following the premiere of the hip-hop trio’s self-titled biopic at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival.

After it was premiered, the film was acquired by Sony Pictures Classics, before being given a release in cinemas later that year. Around this time, though, the company are said to have asked the members to hold back on speaking out in support of Palestine – something they have done since forming in 2017.

“I know in the case of Kneecap, they’ve made a lot of decisions that have been and will be fairly detrimental to their careers,” Lambert told the outlet.

“I met Sony in a skyscraper in Manhattan… and the first thing was, they had just bought the Kneecap film, and they said: ‘You need to stop speaking about Palestine’. And the lads said: ‘That’s not going to happen.”

NME has reached out to Sony for comment regarding Lambert’s claims.

Band members Liam Óg Ó Hannaidh, Naoise Ó Cairealláin and JJ Ó Dochartaigh star in the film, which is based on a semi-fictionalised account of how the west Belfast rap group was formed.

The comedy biopic quickly received critical acclaim, and was both the winner of a BAFTA and shortlisted for two Oscars (Best International Feature and Best Original Song). The film then secured seven wins at the British Independent Film Awards (BIFA), including a joint lead accolade for its stars.

NME described Kneecap as “arguably one of the best music biopics of all time” in our five-star review, and later named it as our best film of 2024.

Speaking about member Mo Chara’s upcoming court appearance in the recent interview, Lambert told the Belfast Telegraph: “I don’t want to speak for Liam Óg, but I think there’s a great sense of conviction that comes when you know that you’re right… and you haven’t done anything wrong.”

He continued: “You walk into any room, and there’s a group of people against you, but you’re clear on what you’ve done and that you’ve done the right thing, and that kind of counts for a lot. That’s the way he kind of feels about it.”

Chara (real name Liam Óg Ó hAnnaidh) allegedly shouted “Up Hamas, up Hezbollah” and displayed a Hezbollah flag on stage. He has since appeared in court and was granted unconditional bail, and is now due to appear in court again on August 20.

Kneecap said at festivals including Coachella and Glastonbury that Israel is committing a “genocide” in Gaza, and have consistently denied accusations of anti-Semitism, claiming that “those attacking us want to silence criticism of a mass slaughter. They weaponise false accusations of antisemitism to distract, confuse, and provide cover for genocide.”

The UN has found Israel’s military actions to be consistent with genocide, and at least 59,821 people have been killed in Gaza since then, according to the territory’s Hamas-run health ministry. The state of Israel strongly denies accusations of genocide and war crimes.

Their Glastonbury set was then investigated by the police, with the investigation closed weeks later and no further action taken.

In the wake of their controversies, the band have been dropped from a number of line-ups including TRNSMT, Germany’s Hurricane Festival and Southside Festivals, and Cornwall’s Eden Project. Last month, it was also confirmed that they had been banned from Hungary for three years ahead of their planned performance at Sziget.

In a statement shared with NME, Sziget called the ban “an unprecedented move which we believe is both unnecessary and regrettable.” Kneecap also responded to the news of their travel ban, and described the decision as “f**king outrageous”.

Earlier this year, Kneecap’s manager spoke out in defence of the band again, and said the members “stand on the right side of history” with their pro-Palestine messaging. “Children are starving to death, and we’re spending six or seven days talking about Kneecap,” Lambert said on RTÉ’s Prime Time in April. “We spent less than a day talking about 15 executed medics.”

Prime Minister Keir Starmer was among the politicians who called for the Irish rap trio to be removed from the line-up for this year’s Glastonbury Festival, and recently told NME why he felt the need to speak out.

“Kneecap shouldn’t be performing at Glastonbury, and I don’t support inciting violence as free speech,” he told us. “I think it’s important that we distinguish the issues we all care about and should be spoken about freely on the one hand, and then the incitement to violence on the other. They’re two different things.”

Last month, Kneecap hit back at the government and critics, saying that they “want to make us seem small”.

Brandon Blackstock, the ex-husband and former manager of Kelly Clarkson, has died at the age of 48.

The news was confirmed by Blackstock’s family, who told People that he passed away from cancer. “It is with great sadness that we share the news that Brandon Blackstock has passed away,” they said. “Brandon bravely battled cancer for more than three years. He passed away peacefully and was surrounded by family.”

They added: “We thank you for your thoughts and prayers and ask everyone to respect the family’s privacy during this very difficult time.”

Earlier in the day, Clarkson had announced that she had postponed the remainder of her ‘August Studio Session’ dates at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas so that she could be “fully present” for her family and for her “children’s father”.

Unfortunately, I need to postpone the remainder of the August Studio Session dates in Las Vegas.

— Kelly Clarkson () August 7, 2025

“I am sincerely sorry to everyone who bought tickets to the shows and I so appreciate your grace, kindness and understanding,” she explained.

Blackstock and Clarkson were married between 2013 and 2022 and they had two children together – River Rose, 11, and Re*****on Alexander, 9.

Blackstock continued to serve as Clarkson’s manager after the divorce, and he had also managed Blake Shelton in the past.

His split from Clarkson was acrimonious, with the American Idol winner having spoken about an “extraordinarily hard” depression that she suffered after the divorce. Her 2023 album ‘Chemistry’ saw her confront some of the emotional turmoil of that period.

Legal proceedings also followed in 2023, with a ruling in California saying that Blackstock had improperly made deals for Clarkson that should have been handled by her agent team. He was ordered to pay her $2.6million (£1.9million).

Blackstock also had two children, Savannah and Seth, from a previous marriage, and became a grandfather in 2022 when Savannah had a son named Lake.

Oasis have confirmed all the stage times for their upcoming shows at Edinburgh’s Murrayfield Stadium – find all the details below.

READ MORE: Oasis live in Cardiff review: a supersonic reunion for a new generation

The returning Britpop greats will bring their Oasis Live ‘25 tour to the Scottish capital for three huge dates – on August 8, 9 and 12. As with their previous shows in Cardiff, Manchester and London, they will be joined at all dates by opening acts Cast and Richard Ashcroft.

In an Instagram post on Thursday evening (August 7), the band confirmed that the gates at Murrayfield will open at 5pm on each of the three nights. Cast will then take to the stage at 6pm, followed by the former Verve frontman Ashcroft at 7pm.

Noel and Liam and the rest of the band will then kick off their two-hour show at 8:15pm, with a strict curfew at 10:30pm.

From there, Oasis will then head for a pair of performances in Dublin’s Croke Park on August 16 and 17, before heading across the Atlantic for the North American tour. Dates in Toronto, Chicago, East Rutherford, Pasadena and Mexico City will take them to the middle of September, when they head back for two final nights at Wembley.

Later in the year, they play in South Korea, Japan, Australia, Argentina, Chile and Brazil.

One Oasis fan who won’t be attending any of the shows is Paul Weller, who explained that he is “not a big fan of big gigs”, and would rather have seen them play a “smaller venue”.

NME gave Oasis’ first concert at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium a glowing five-star review, writing: “After a ‘90s heyday and an often maligned post-millennium era, this is Oasis redesigned for the 21st Century.”

“Playing before a pop-art-meets-psychedelia visual spectacular that never distracts but will look sick on a phone, they seem the quintessential stadium band playing the greatest hits of greatest hits,” it added.

At the fourth of the Wembley shows last week, a man tragically fell to his death at the end of the gig. A 45-year-old landscape gardener from Bournemouth named Lee Claydon, his father has described him as a “hard-working family man” and “a lovely bloke”. A GoFundMe set up by the family has raised over £20,000 – see the page here.

An Irish venue has cancelled an event after an open letter signed by Kneecap and Fontaines D.C. warned it would be a platform for the “far-right”.

The Mayflower Community Centre in Drumshanbo, Co. Leitrim was set to host the Mise Éire Festival on August 23, but on Wednesday (August 6), they announced on Facebook that they would not be hosting the event due to “terms and conditions not being complied with”.

The decision followed an open letter circulated by Leitrim and Roscommon Against Fascism (LARAF), which was signed by approximately 600 artists and arts workers, including Kneecap, Fontaines D.C., Christy Moore, The Mary Wallopers and Chris O’Dowd.

The letter argued that the festival would “tarnish the proud history of the Mayflower as a venue”, a place they said has “brought people together from all backgrounds as a safe and inclusive cultural space for the community, for local schoolchildren and for all visitors to the area”.

On behalf of Mayflower Community Centre CLG we regretfully wish to inform the public that the upcoming ‘Mise Éire’…

It is believed that Stephen Kerr, a right-wing, anti-immigration activist in Ireland, was involved in the organisation of the festival, with controversial media figures including John Waters, Thomas Sheridan and Kevin Flanagan listed as planned speakers.

The festival was set to involve “live music, talks and workshops celebrating Irish culture, heritage and shared values”. LARAF, however, have suggested that this was a misrepresentation of the festival’s intentions.

As reported by Hot Press, the Mise Éire Festival has responded to the cancellation by writing: “As LARAF celebrates what they think is a successful attack on free speech and Irish culture is in fact the beginning of the demise of the true fascist movement that thinks it can dictate what grown adults do, think, say and feel.”

“It is a good time for them to understand why we chose the name Mise Éire which means ‘I am Ireland’. We ARE Ireland, our attendees ARE. These people cannot take away what is within us. Inherent and intrinsic and God given.”

It is the latest in a string of similar open letters signed by artists in 2025 in political protest at public events and festivals.

In May, over 60 artists signed a letter addressed to Sónar Festival, protesting their “complicity” with the private equity firm KKR, which holds significant investments in companies with ties to Israel amid the ongoing situation in Gaza.

Several names also withdrew from Field Day and many others urged action this year due to its own ties to KKR.

Just this week, The Menstrual Cramps pulled out of Boardmasters 2025, saying the festival had not met demands to “culturally boycott Israel”.
