*Public Notice...!!!*

The Government and Good people of Nsukka LGA, today, the 21st of September, 2021, recieved with shock and grief, the sudden death of one Late Mr. Nickolas Onyemaechi Ugwu popularly known as Nikado, a Keke Rider who was a native of Eha-Alumona in Nsukka LGA.

From preliminary investigations, it was ascertained that his death was occasioned by a brawl with two men who claimed to be collecting levy on behalf of their employer; s brawl that turned violent.

In the light of this unfortunate incident, the Government of Nsukka LGA, wishes to state thus:

1. That Hon. Barr. Cosmas Ugwueze, the Executive Chairman of Nsukka LGA, and his Adminstration, most heartily, condoles the family of the deceased, the entire good people of Eha-Alumona and indeed, Nsukka LGA, on this unfortunate loss.

2. That the Executive Chairman of Nsukka LGA on hearing about the ugly incident, rushed to the scene of the incident, visited the Bishop Shannahan Hospital, Nsukka, where the body of the deceased was deposited and for three hours and still counting, have been on ground calming frayed nerves of the deceased's family well wishers and colleagues.

3. That the two suspects who are accused of causing the death of the deceased and their employer, Mr Emeka Asogwa are already in police custody and have already been moved to Enugu.

4. That contrary to rumours making the rounds, the two suspects who are accused of causing the deceased's death, are not employees of Nsukka LGA;

Recall that on assumption of office, Hon. Barr. Cosmas Ugwueze, the Executive Chairman of Nsukka LGA, disbanded all forms of Task Forces, (Agboros), in Nsukka LGA immediately he assumed office.

5. That the two suspects are employees of one Mr. Emeka Asogwa, a contactor and a transporter;

6. That Hon. Barr. Cosmas Ugwueze, the Executive Chairman of Nsukka LGA, has ordered the immediate suspension, till further notice, of all forms of levies, rates or duties collected from Keke Riders within Nsukka LGA

The Capacity Mayor, Hon. Barr Cosmas Ugwueze, the Executive Chairman of Nsukka LGA, has consistently continued to follow the footsteps of his boss, the best Governor in Nigeria, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Dr. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, the Executive Governor of Enugu State, becoming one of the 28 LGA Chairmen, out of the 744 LGA Chairmen across Nigeria, that Abuja, the Nigerian Nation's capital city, would stand still for, on Saturday, the 16th of September, 2021, in a historic event, tagged 'Nigerian Local Government Chairmen Merit Awards', that aimed at singling out and honouring LGA Chairmen that have unequivocally distinguished themselves among their peers, in terms of performance, excellence and meritorious impacts on their people.

On that day, Hon. Barr. Ugwueze, indeed, made history, as he became the first Executive Chairman of Nsukka LGA, to ever bag that prestigious award since the Award's over 20-year history, having come into existence in the year, 2000 at the wake of this political dispensation.

He also became the only Executive Chairman of Enugu State extraction that would be awarded in the 2021 edition of that annual national event.

Like in every thing he does, the Capacity Mayor, Hon. Barr. Cosmas Ugwueze, the Executive Chairman of Nsukka LGA, in setting up Nsukka LGA's Traffic/Environmental Marshall, has once again, demonstrated deep thoughtfulness, committed thoroughness and unwavering focus, going the extra mile to foist innovative dimensions to the brand new outfit.

As confirmed by the Enugu State Waste Evacuation Committee which, led by its Coordinator, Hon. Dr. Oscar Okwume, that visited Nsukka LGA, recently to Inaugurate the team, Hon. Barr Ugwueze's brand of Marshalls is ahead of others in the state, in many regards.

And, of a truth, a cursory look at the outfit, its equipment and how it was constituted, would reveal the truism in that assertion.

First, the processes followed to arrive at the selection and employment of the Marshalls, typically exemplified what due process represents.

Through his ever supportive Supervisor for Works and Transport, Hon. Cyprain Ugwuaku, the Capacity Mayor released a call for advert which, through the LGA's portals of communication, was publicized to the general public.

In the end, well over a hundred applications were sent in, and were collated by Hon. Ugwuaku who coordinated the process.

However, to be sure he got what he wanted, Hon. Barr. Ugwueze, sat through the interview session himself, interacting, one-on-one, with all the intending employees and at the end of the process, penciled down those who met his standards.

The Government of Nsukka LGA, under the leadership of Hon Barr. Cosmas Ugwueze, in the strongest of terms, condemns, in its totality, the unfortunate, totally unacceptable and wanton destruction of motorcycle parts at Eleagu Obukpa yesterday, Monday, 6th September, 2021, by hoodlums suspected to be enforcers of the Sit-At-Home order of the Indiginous People of Biafra, (IPOB).

During the ugly incident, as unraveled by preliminary investigations, a truck, conveying motorcycle parts from Nnewi in Anambra State to Kabba in Kogi State, was intercepted and burnt down to rubbles, by gun-totting, masked hoodlums, numbering about seven, who according to eyewitnesses, arrived the scene on motorbikes.

On hearing about the incident, the ever responsive Hon. Barr. Cosmas Ugwueze, The Executive Chairman of Nsukka LGA, mobilized the Neighbourhood Watch and the police to the scene.

Following his distress call, fire fighters dispatched from the Fire Service, Nsukka, arrived the scene and did their best to fight the fire.

Hon. Barr Cosmas Ugwueze, the Executive Chairman of Nsukka LGA, and his administration, in a most empathic disposition, commiserates with the business men and women most of whom are certainly likely Igbos, who lost their goods and means of livelihood in the unfortunate, blatant show of wickedness.

It beats the Capacity Mayor, a man of peace, how Igbo youths have degenerated to resorting to violence against their own Igbo brothers in an absurd attempt to fight presumed enemies. To him, that simply amounts to one cutting off one's own nose in order to spite one's face.

However, leveraging on this unfortunate incident, the Capacity Mayor wishes to reassure the general public about the resolve of his administration to continue to make the protection of lives and properties of its people, one of its priorities.

The attention of the Executive Chairman of Nsukka LGA, Hon. Barr. Cosmas Ugwueze and his administration, have been drawn to a purported confessional video making the rounds on the social media, wherein one suspected notorious criminal, Nnabuike Nwamba, from Eha-Alumona in Nsukka LGA, who has a verifiable trackrecord of criminality, in a poorly acted show of malice, shame and retaliation, mentioned names of some of our most priced sons as collaborators in and sponsors of their heinous crimes.

The general public is hereby urged to jettison, throw overboard and totally disregard the video and its contents as it is a clear case of vindictiveness, vendetta and acrimony.

Ede-Odume, whose name was mentioned in the said video, over the years, has proven to be one of Nsukka's most trusted hands in vigillante and Neighborhood Watch operations and is today a trained Police Constabulary, who has been one of the biggest thorns on the flesh for Nnabuike Nwamba and cohorts.

Ede-Odume's war against Nnabuike's gang and indeed other gangs within Eha-Alumuna, Nsukka LGA and environs, is a widely known fact and his resolute stand against criminals and criminality is in the public domain. Working closely with the Capacity Mayor of Nsukka LGA, Hon. Barr. Ugwueze's Administration and the police, he has achieved the cracking and decimation of a number of daredevil gangs within Nsukka LGA and beyond, a situation which has contributed to the peace and tranquility Nsukka LGA enjoys today. The records are there for everyone to see.

On the other hands, Rt. Hon.
