Toucan Tuesday! 😍 I love visiting and seeing some real life Pokémon, like the gorgeous Toco toucan! Her bill is impressively large, but don’t be fooled… it’s lightweight and made of keratin supported by thin rods of bone 🦴
Like the Pokémon Toucannon, the bill is important for communication. But the coolest part is the toucan can regulate the flow of blood to its bill… meaning they can literally help them exchange heat:
🥵 Too hot? The blood vessels widen to radiate heat.
🥶 Got chilly? They can shut off blood flow to the bill entirely!
This reminded me of the Pokémon Toucannon and how its bill can reach high temperatures and even change colour! 🔥
I love combining my excitement for Pokémon with my role as a wild animal biologist. Seeing our real life Pokémon at places like is truly spectacular. Thanks to Keeper Sam for the opportunity 💜

✨Fun times and good vibes✨ There’s nothing quite like the post card show binder sort 🥰 Thanks to some good friends and new ones, I picked up some cards for my favourites binder.
💙 Mason helped me complete my Cramorant page!

😎 had my favourite Professor (okay tied with Kukui)
❄️ had gorgeous creations and I needed the Alolan Ninetales!
🥰Thanks for for having me as an Ambassador and letting me talk with young trainers about Pokémon biology! The young trainers I met had incredible knowledge and I know they’re going to make awesome Pokémon professors one day if they wish 🥼

✨Who’s your Pokémon partner?✨ Throughout the 30 incredible years of Pokémon, Ninetales has always been my favourite ❤️
One game to play with fellow Pokémon trainers is to pick your team from each region, allowing only one Pokémon to carry over each time (like our boy Ash). Mr Safari and I even guessed the others Pokémon teams to then compare to see how well we knew each other! It was a lot of fun! 😎
Here is my adventure:
🔥Kanto: I fell in love with Vulpix when I was a young trainer, but then I evolved it and have never looked back. Ninetales has always been my favourite… although I wonder what would have happened if I picked Pokémon Red to play?
💦Johto: Chasing down the wild dogs was definitely stressful and the anxiety of them running away still is in my subconscious. However, when I finally caught Suicune… it was monumental!
🦭 Hoenn: Shiny hunting used to be a lot rougher back in the day… so when I got my buddy Spheal with the sparkle: Wowza!
🥚Sinnoh: Hatching a baby mantyke was such a joy. I also really loved Leafeon and Glaceon on my team!
🦦Unova: Oshawott is one of my favourite starters of all time. The happiest little otter you ever did see, with a scalchop that is wicked!
🤒Kalos: Given the circumstances, I shouldn’t have enjoyed X&Y as I had pneumonia. But the power of Pokémon helped me rest and transported me to Lumiose city. I bet having a fennec fox Pokémon also helped my recovery!
🌴Alola: Best region ever in my totally unbiased opinion after living in Hawaii. The detail in world building, the new style of gameplay and of course…my favourite professor! I crave malasadas every time I play!
🐑Galar: Wooloo in the adverts was the reason I was looking forward to the game, but then I met Cramorant and my team has never been the same since. Oh and the wild areas? Awesome music!
🦩Paldea: They spoiled us with a flamingo AND aye-aye Pokémon! Loved seeing an alpine marmot appear too and took top place as my favourite electric rodent Pokémon!
🥰 Thank you Pokémon for the last 30 years of new friends, events and joy. I cannot wait to see where the journey goes next!

🏴‍☠️Happy EB03 Release Day✨I’m so ready to add more of my favourite OnePiece heroines to my “All blue” binder…in fact, I think I will need to upgrade my pirate queens to a new binder for just EB03 😇 To celebrate, I wanted to celebrate my top four favourite cards so far! Which OnePiece heroine card are you chasing? I’m going for the Perona because I adore the ghost 👻 princess 👑

🦙why an alpaca Pokémon would rock…
💦Alpaca used spit and its super effective! Theyʻll let other alpaca know if they’re annoyed by spitting the last thing they ate at the offender (don’t try this at home) 🙈
🎶Hum a merry tune, as when an alpaca is born, they’ll hum to their mother who will hum back! Alpaca may also hum when curious, happy, worried or cautious 🎵
🌱They have some serious sharp nails, but that would be no bueno for the grass they eat and walk on… so they have padded feet 😎
😬Speaking of grass, alpaca don’t have any top front teeth. Theyʻre called gentle grazers! ☘️

✨London Card Show Pickups & Gifts 💜
I’m absolutely rubbish at taking photos and videos as I’m too busy having fun 😂 This weekend was no exception, from hosting Pokémon pack battles and celebrating young trainers on stage… it was busy!
🛍️Luckily I had some time to shop and pick up my chase Nami card, a Ninetales for my collection and a Boa I thought was pretty 🤩
I am so thankful to one of the young trainers who joined us on stage who kindly gifted me the radiant Jirachi 🥰 and then to see and catch up over our love of Chopper and Perona was the icing on the cake 🎂
You guys aren’t going to believe how epic April at the Excel is going to be 🤯 if you’ve not got your tickets, what are you waiting for!!! Can’t wait to see y’all there 💜
